Paid attendance allegedly 1,551. Just for kicks and giggles (or not).

I don’t think I’m as down on Lundy as some on here; however, it is concerning that Lundy’s best “recruited” post player was a guy who wasn’t actually recruited and instead asked to join the team as a walk on. I suppose Jalen Johnson had his moments too, but Moses Bol, VBJ, and Vince were all PBS’ guys. It’s a bit concerning when PBS is out recruiting you for such an important part of the team.

Also, I feel like it’s important to distinguish that the difference between last year’s team and this year’s team isn’t just luck. To some extent, you have to create your own luck. If you keep the game within 6-8 points in the second half, you at least give yourself a chance to win. If you’re down 18-20 like they were against Longwood tonight, UST last week, and Green Bay, USM, Stetson, etc. before that, there’s very little being lucky in the last 5 minutes can do.

Still not sure what our assistant coaches do. Our bench looked like a morgue a majority of the game. There is zero energy. It's pretty deflating to see tbh.
Almost as deflating as the size of the attendance tonight. Woof.

I saw some highlights, fellas. Were there 500 people on hand tonight? Around that id say. It was the worst crowd at the Arena since Bart took over.
Our assistants literally only hold the matchup board in game. Anyone thinking Vince M would help this team obviously shows they dont watch any other teams but UWM. 12 woulda bodied him all game. The issue isnt the bigs it our complete lack of ball pressure on the entry passes making it stupid easy for any team with a brain to pick apart out defense. Coupled with our hedges on the PNR like we are defending Curry or Dame also pull our d out of position.

I'm happy for Vincent that he's found his best level. He's an NAIA All-American. Good for him. Meanwhile, I'm far more concerned about personnel decisions involving Jalen Johnson and Justin Thomas.

Misery loves company, and this team certainly is making us all miserable. We need 10 on the court now more than ever.

I didn't even say a word to any of the players who went to Goolsby's. Just gave them the look akin to a greatly-disappointed father.

This was my first game of the season. When the schedule came out, I was disappointed that I am going to miss some games due to a cruise I'm taking. After seeing tonight's debacle, that disappointment is replaced by relief that I won't feel obligated to go those games because I'm in town and bought season tickets.
I'm not an expert but my takes
1) Good luck getting people back to the seats after you lose to a team no one ever heard of before especially when the next home game is three days before Christmas.
2) Some people showed effort but others did not. If the team is going to turn things around everyone putting on that uniform has to care enough to defend every drive (not step aside and let the guy score), to rush to the basket for rebounds, not stand there and hope someone gets it, help out team mates who are doubled up instead of watching the ball get stripped away and to improve shot selection.
3) I did see a lot of passing the ball. That part was good in as much as it indicates some measure of unselfish play but I also saw guys driving into the teeth of Longwood's defense and trying to put up a shot that was clearly going to be blocked.
4) It didn't seem like we had a coordinated defense.
5) Playing frantically at the end just so you don't lose by 20 is not going to cut it.

'It looked like boys versus men': UWM coach Bart Lundy doesn't hold back after latest loss
Todd Rosiak
Never one to mince words, Bart Lundy didn't hold back on Wednesday night.
In the wake of another disappointing UW-Milwaukee home loss, this one an 80-67 setback against Longwood at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, the second-year coach went in-depth on the Panthers' struggles that have left them 4-7 with just one game remaining before Horizon League play begins in earnest.
"I'll be real honest," he began. "I told them in the locker room our new guys are getting better. They're consistently getting better. Our old guys who were hungry last year, they've been entitled and haven't worked as hard as they needed to and haven't kept our culture where it needs to be. And we need more from them.
"We need them to be right and we need them to be hungry and we need them to fight and and not have agendas and whatever the team needs. We need those guys. And I told them I have never lost, and I'm not going to lose. I'll find the guys that can do it.
"We'll continue to grow and we'll be good team by the end. I don't know when it will happen. But it will happen."
UWM, which was picked in the preseason to finish second in the Horizon League standings, certainly has time to right the ship having played only one conference game to this point (a loss at UW-Green Bay on Dec. 2).
But much will need to improve – and in a hurry.
The Panthers have been hamstrung by injuries, with not only standout junior BJ Freeman (back) missing his fourth consecutive game but Langston Wilson (ankle) and Zach Howell (shoulder) sidelined against Longwood as well.
That left Lundy to utilize what was basically an eight-man rotation, and one that failed to compete in the second half once their three-pointers stopped falling.
In the end, it was a 14-4 Longwood run early in the second half that left UWM trailing by double digits the rest of the way with 7-footer Szymon Zapala and hard-nosed guard Waylon Napper scoring 24 points apiece on a combined 19-for-30 shooting.
"To me, it looked like boys versus men," Lundy said. "I mean, they had grown men. (Zapala and Napper) played right in the middle of the floor. We tried every scheme you can think of, made up some schemes, and they continuously scored and were productive. We were down nine at the half on the glass.
"We went into the game saying that we had to be good on the glass. We fought a little harder in the second half but can't continue to play from behind. But it really looked like men against boys."
Longwood, from Farmville, Virginia, is 11-1 and did enter having won 10 straight, which was tied for the longest winning streak in the nation, but the caliber of its opponent hadn't been especially high.
UWM, meanwhile, remains stuck on two Division I victories and failed to build on what should have been a character-building, 81-79 victory at UC-Davis its previous time out.
Erik Pratt led the Panthers with 12 points, Elijah Jamison had 11 and Markeith Browning II 10. Six of UWM's 8 three-pointers came in the opening 20 minutes, and Longwood made more free throws (11) than the Panthers attempted (10).
The Lancers shot 51.7%, marking the fourth time the Panthers have allowed an opponent to hit at least half its attempts in a game. And UWM continues to struggle with ball movement (12 assists on 26 baskets) and security (14 turnovers) with Pratt, Browning and Jamison all having to play out of position at point guard.
Of the players who saw the floor Wednesday, Pratt, Aaron Franklin, Darius Duffy, Learic Davis and Faizon Fields are all new to the program while Browning, Jamison, Kentrell Pullian and Angelo Stuart were the returnees.
Lundy was asked if he was surprised that the players who had a hand in the Panthers' surprising 22-12 finish last season aren't stepping up as needed this season with the increased expectations.
"I think we live in an age where everybody has their own little thing that they think that they want and their people tell them that they need to do and instead of being just hard-playing guys who are all about the team, they listen to all these things or they make them up in their minds," he said. "We need more guys that will do whatever the team needs. Not whatever they need; whatever the team needs.
"There's a lot of guys in that locker room that are getting way better and are about that. And those are the guys I ended up playing. About seven or eight is really what you need. We're going to get some guys back, too.
"So, we'll be OK."
UWM returns to action on Dec. 22 against Chattanooga then has another week until it hosts Horizon league foe Robert Morris.
The good news for the Panthers is they should be closer to full strength by that time.
"Both Langston and BJ are really close," Lundy said. "We've got nine days and I'm optimistic we'll get at least one or maybe both back (for Chattanooga)."
Meanwhile the news for Pierce Spencer, who transferred in from Nicholls State and was expected to be a major contributor at point guard, isn't nearly as good. He suffered what turned out to be a severe knee injury in his initial days on campus.
"I think at this point he's done," Lundy said. "A winner and a really good player. A coach's son. We had a lot of eggs in that basket, so it's a blow. I think they're at the point where they don't know if surgery can help. It could be career-ending.
"Just bad luck, and I feel for him. He's a true hooper to his core."

Wow. Beer is now $14. Wasn't it $8 last year? Not sure where you are looking… 7 for a domestic in the hardwood club. 10 for the new panther ale. It was the beer stand outside were the tacos are sold. The sign said $14 for Miller. That must be for tap beer. It can't be the old cans, that use to be $7 or $8?
