Those are the four schools that are up for three spots in the MVC. From Jimmy's article: So yeah...

Wow. That was long, but an excellent read by many writers on MVC expansion.
Some take aways I got from it. Most seem 12 schools is the best option. A couple bring up St. Louis. That's a joke. Why would the Billkins leave a league in the A-10 that sends 3 to great seasons 5 schools to the NCAA Tournament. Others need to give up the thinking that the MVC is like the SEC of football. No great schools out there, please! Like, Bradley, Evansville, Southern Illinois, Drake, Indiana State are world beaters. What is with the hate on Loyola and not getting the Chicago market. Loyola has actually won basketball games since moving to the MVC. They say the market didn't come with. Did they think the press would cover Loyola now just because they moved to the MVC. Less coverage on the Cubs. Lol. One guy likes Milwaukee over Valpo.

I think the St. Louis talk comes from that the Billkens travel schedule to other Atlantic 10 schools is pretty rough.

Every conference has their pipedream plans for who'd they'd like to see join. A-10 is a far better option for them overall on/off the court.

The A-10 is so much better than the MVC that a team four hours from its closest conference opponent and seven hours from the next-closest would rather be there than in a conference where it would be the closest to the geographical center and they would have a guaranteed home game every time they play in the conference tournament.
Think about that. The Billikens could probably fill up 75% of the 22k seat Scottrade Center for Arch Madness.
Don't forget they have Lambert in town, so their travel isn't nearly as expensive as it would be if they were in, say, eastern Illinois.
We'd take an A-10 invite in a heartbeat. The A-10 is how Saint Louis and Dayton keep their Big East hopes alive.
Also, don't forget this: Saint Louis turned down the MVC when they HAD CREIGHTON and WICHITA STATE.

I'm struggling to think of any reason why the MVC would choose UNO over UWM. Enrollment: 27,800>15,500.Endowment: $200 million> $71 million. Market: 600,000>400,000. They've never been to an NCAA tournament at the D1 level. We both share a market with a Big East school that draws good attendance numbers so that can't be it. We both play baseball, and I don't think the MVC sponsors hockey so it isn't that. What am I missing?

Familiar city, program potential, facilities (excluding the financial issues) and western travel partner for Missouri St. That's all I got.

Here's what I don't get about the "potential" argument for Omaha. Do people think they're potentially a Final Four team? Because if someone's thinking "this could be a team that can get to the Sweet 16," then that's a nice discussion about potential. It's also not about potential here, because we've actually done it.

Especially with how awful their MBB budget is currently. We make fun of GB's budget and Omaha's is like $500k less!
