I personally have no complaints with the conference schedule since none of the home games currently conflict with my own travel schedule, which amazes me. But the fact that the team has to play five consecutive conference road games is very hard to fathom and will be a tremendous challenge. That shouldn't happen.
Also, we should ALWAYS be playing GB, home or away, on a weekend night. That's the fiercest rivalry in the conference and the HL should take advantage of it.
With the insane change in the HLT, those games have a legitimate chance of being the highest attended games the entire year between HL teams -- but not on a Monday afternoon.

You just got to break the 5 games in a row on the road by weekly road trips. The GB game is rough after coming back from the Motorcity road trip.

Completely agree with all of this. 5 road games in 11 days, including 3 games in 5 days is terrible. Why anyone thinks this is a good idea is beyond me.

These are the same people who appear to feel that moving the league tournament to Detroit is a good idea.

As I said last week. I'm still loving the fact that the Panthers have 4 home games after Valentine's Day. We have had senior days around that date in the past.

ESPN3 is garbage. HLN has the same production values and is free. The whole idea of ESPN3 is to have access to games we otherwise couldn't see. But you need a cable subscription to view ESPN3.
How does the Horizon League do a better job than Disney in producing internet college sports programming?
The time for us to move to Fox Sports 1, NBC Sports, or CBS Sports is long past. ESPN does us no favors. We have "ESPN games," but those games are only viewable on TV very sparingly. It doesn't expand the brand of the conference or the school. We need to be on honest-to-god television. Fox Sports 1 has plenty of programming, and CBS Sports has some other stuff, but NBCSN has a couple favorable conferences that I'd like to be associated with, and they'd have time for us to get multiple national TV games per week.

That's definitely something that would be great for the league to investigate. In addition to NBCSN I wouldn't mind them taking a look at Fox Sports 2 (full disclosure, my channel lineup includes NBCSN and FS1/2 but not CBSSN, I have UVerse). NBCSN is a perfectly good channel with solid distribution, but if I recall correctly they already have a fair amount of college basketball between the A10 and CUSA. Fox Sports 2 seems to be sorely lacking for live content, and we could probably get several conference games on tv a week. Additionally, their distribution is increasing and they are available on a lot of lower-level tv subscriptions. I would have to look at their lineup but I'm sure we could work with them to air a few games a week (in contrast with the meager showings we get from ESPN). We could even have the chance for more marquee matchups to be bumped up to FS1 or maybe even big Fox. If we could sell recruits on being on tv we might even be able to separate ourselves from the pack and be near the A10/MVC level. We could probably even get a little more money for going to FS2, plus fox sports go is fairly similar to ESPN3 as far as production values. Long story short, anywhere but the way over-saturated ESPN channels is probably best for us at this juncture.

I hate streaming for another reason. It's not on my 51 inch HD TV. It comes in fuzzy. It's not TV and I hate when these network and schools hype it up like it is TV. I agree Jimmy. I wish many mid-major type leagues would move to FS1/FS2 or CBSSN. There is a major need for programming on FS2 and there is also the Fox Sports Go that events can be streaming on just like espn3. ESPN does nothing TV wise for these league, then saying your on espn3. I asked some at UWM in how long the deal with the HL & ESPN is and they are signed up for year to come. I brought up FOX & CBS idea up and they laughed at me and said that is where the money is.

I'm guessing the Horizon League is signed up for the next 10 years. NBCSN wouldn't be a wise move since they have Atlantic 10, CAA & IVY. This years schedule that network will not do any games during the week. Only Saturday & Sunday games. I'm surprised you don't get CBSSN. Maybe you need an upgrade on your plan. It's a great network!

I just changed packages a couple weeks ago and am still figuring out what all I get/don't get/where it is. I'd like to have CBSSN, but I get my UFC with FS1/2, Brewers/Bucks with FSWI, and most HL games with ESPN channels. I enjoy the occasional A10 game, although I'm not affiliated with any school there, so NBCSN is welcome as well.

I know the Panthers still have one non-conference game to schedule, but when is the school going to release the schedule?

It should be out by Oct. 15. They're trying really hard to get a D-1 foe.

ESPN 3 sucks. I would rather listen to the game on the radio than some of the grainy crap on 3.
I don't get why the schedule isn't final. Oct 15 is way too late.
