Interesting question. It did just get a major refurbishment, so I imagine nothing major would be coming down the pike any time soon. Hopefully it doesn't really affect us.

I hope this means that we can now resume the seat replacement in the Arena and get closer to making all the seats black and gold. Then, let's work on putting suites together.

I like that plan... I feel like the 400 level could be converted to suites, and that would help modernize the Arena while helping the Panthers and Wave (and perhaps Admirals, given that it doesn't seem like it's a firm deal that they will be at the new arena) generate new revenue. If the worst we have to fear is no new renovations for years, that stinks, but the current renovations are helping the arena move forward. As a side note, a Wave fan I know called the Panther Arena "sheisty" before going to games this year. I told him to check out the updates, and after he did, the first thing he told me was "you were right about the arena". Getting the rest of the seats updated will be a nice next step. While updating the 400 level to suites would be awesome, the arena would survive in the foreseeable future without that update.
If the full tax revenue is needed to operate the Panther Arena, then I'm a lot more worried. I thought I read somewhere during the whole arena debate that the Panther Arena (along with the Milwaukee Theater) had a positive cash flow... I'm just not sure if that includes the entertainment tax revenue or not.

Admirals would be a huge get for the Panther Arena. Gotta think it would be much easier to get funding for upgrades with them as a tenant.
Suites would be a neat addition but is probably a bit of a stretch. Problem with putting suites in the 400 level is that no one wants to pay thousands of dollars to be a suite holder only to sit far from the action. Miller Park has this issue with their club level.
I've always though Pitt has a neat concept with the floor level suites at their arena. This probably isn't feasable if it's going to be a hockey arena.

Look up the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford Illinois. Its where the Blackhawks AHL team plays. They have a very similar size arena, a little smaller seating wise. They ripped out the seats on one end and exposed the concourse on that end. An idea that could allow for a close to court side suite level as well as other options. we have a lot more room vertically so its an interesting opportunity. Attachments:

I went to the Roller Derby this past Saturday at UWM Panther Arena and it was a great event in that arena. Had to be well over 2,000 people.
I think it would be great to have the Admirals play at UWM Panther Arena and have 210,000 Admirals fans enjoy the historic arena with the University name on the building.

Yeah perhaps the panther pit area could, in the long run, be converted into suites. The Admirals use the suites at the Bradley Center, so perhaps it would be something to look into , especially if the Admirals move down to the Panther Arena. The seats behind the Panther Pit very rarely have anybody there, and suites would be a nice source of revenue for all parties. This is all very theoretical, but fun to think about. At the very least, having the Admirals move over would be further proof that this arena is important to Milwaukee.
On a different note, could you imagine how terrible the winter sports season would have been if the Panther Arena had been razed for the Bucks' new arena? It would consist of the Bucks and Marquette... The Admirals and Wave would for sure be gone and the Panthers would have been, at best, a consistently losing Division 1 team. I suspected a while back that the Panther Arena site was the Bucks' preferred site for that exact reason; they would have had as much of a monopoly on the Milwaukee winter sports market as reasonably possible. Thankfully it looks like that isn't happening.

Maybe I'm being naive here but wouldn't the Nashville Predators want to get involved at some point? I would think needing to potentially move one of your minor league teams would be a burden they'd like to avoid.

the AHl is currently moving several teams out west to form a Western Conference- to mirror the NHL's western conference, so the Admirals will be the only team called that going forward, as Norfolk is moving west. If they have to move to the arena, I'll gladly welcome them as a tenant.
