Some of these prognosticators wouldn't know a good program if it bit them in the butt.
This one has won 19 or more games in four of the last five seasons.

Moe Ginsburg is now the official clothier of Milwaukee Panthers athletics!
Just be careful about whom you meet on the subway.

Did I see it correct that the Panthers are picked to finish 7th?

Did I see it correct that the Panthers are picked to finish 7th? Yes, by the estimate of most publications. The official poll won't be released until league media day Wednesday. Here's my best guess about what they're thinking: 1, Green Bay; 2, Cleveland State; 3, Valparaiso; 4, Detroit; 5, Milwaukee; 6, Wright State; 7, Oakland; 8, Youngstown State; 9, UIC.

Panthers lose top 2 scorers and #2 rebounder and #2 assist leader. The pick makes sense.
They were also picked to finish 9th last year. And Wright State was picked to finish 9th the year before. Preseason rankings mean absolute bupkus.

Guess shocking the Horizon League once was not enough. Guess we have to win the regular season title as well, now...

There's a lot of lost talent among the teams at the top - Aaron, Brown, Forbes, Dority, all gone. Each team will have to adjust, and anyone who drops one team because of lost scoring without dropping another is just looking for a reason to drop that team. It's about who you've got coming back. Wright State's entire starting five is gone, and I would be shocked if they finished above Detroit in the standings, let alone Milwaukee.
1. UWGB 2. UWM 3. CSU 4. Valpo
5. Detroit 6. Youngstown
7. WSU 8. Oakland 9. UIC

I agree with the way SK is analyzing it. GB is the clear favorite because of what they have coming back. dylan keeps telling me that Milwaukee is being picked for seventh or worse. That doesn't make sense from the simple standpoint of realizing that we have three high quality starters -- Matt, Steve and Austin -- coming back from a tournament team, and two other guys -- JJ and JR -- who also have starting experience.
But it's all hot air now anyway. Let's play.

Right now I would say the top teams in the league should be GB, CSU and Milwaukee in some order.
As a fan of GB my question marks about Milwaukee relate to the APR ban, replacing Aaron and front line depth.
Does this team pull together to shred apart with no post season to play for? You guys know better than I do what kind of locker room you have but I think it is a legit question for people ranking the teams.
You guys also know better than anyone else what Springs and Lyle will do to fill the shoes of Aaron. The team went 0-3 when Aaron was out late last season. So that would make them 7-6 in league play with him. In the HL tournament he had games of 16, 20, 28 and 18 points. Against Nova...well it wasn't his day. I wonder how much others worry about filling those shoes? When he was hot he could carry you to wins.
As for JJ, in 21 games after 1/1/14 he only played double digit minutes in 4 of them, he scored in double digits in 1 of them and in the HL tournament he played 13 total minutes in 4 games. I don't think the rest of the league looks at him as providing depth. Certainly not filling shoes of Kyle Kelm in terms of offensive production.
I think Arians, McWhorter and Tiby is enough to be very relevant in the 2014-15 version of the HL.
