Whoa!?!
You knew it was only a matter of time before he was hired again but I wasn't expecting it right now.
Now he gets to go against Tennessee every year and who knows maybe we can get a game with them once in a while.

Wow, that was a surprising update to see on the ESPN ticker this morning. I believe his show-clause ends in August, meaning that he cannot even touch recruiting with a ten-foot pole. And I would love to see the chance of getting a UWM series with them in the future.

Happy for Coach, not happy with the destination, but I'll always wish him the best. The SEC needs more than Florida and Kentucky in basketball. He brought it at Tennessee and will again at Auburn.

Yeah. Its funny how they can have just about every school as a powerhouse for football and literally only florida, kentucky, and mizzou are good at basketball.

What does Pearl's signing by Auburn immediately after he became available after sanctions ran out say about us? Auburn? His integrity? Our acceptance of lack of integrity and honesty in the pursuit of "wins?" Is winning the "only" thing? I am ashamed that we are willing to accept that and revere a guy with his storied past. Winning must be the only barometer then, right? Everything else doesn't matter. The end justifies the means, right?
Surely big time college coaching has its own culture and I know Pearl led you guys to your best moments in basketball but I am lost on how many of us are willing to accept someone who has a reckless relationship with rules and integrity and honesty. Pearl's a worm and his career is the best example of how we are willing to sacrifice our own morals and integrities to "win."
"Just win, baby" isn't a battle cry. It's an excuse and a reason like "don't get caught."
I was wondering how soon he's get a job and where. My questions are answered and it's a shame on us and society that "all is forgotten." The man can coach, so why not the pros where recruiting integrity and rules and honesty are replaced totally by performance and pay, alone. But he's still a worm in my opinion and not an example of someone to hold in high regard by any means.......... Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and that one's mine for what it's worth...

Is winning the "only" thing? No, selling a program is equally important. Of course, the two largely go hand-in-hand. So yes, winning is the only thing that matters.

I will never understand people who revere morality in sports. They are only there to entertain you.

Let's be perfectly honest here. Bruce Pearl got in trouble because he lied about innocuous rule-breaking to a gaggle of liars and crooks. What's the worst crime? Bruce Pearl hosting recruits at his house for a barbecue, or the NCAA making billions off of student-athletes with a scholarship in return?
Get real.

I will never understand people who revere morality in sports. They are only there to entertain you. So, for entertainment we are to compromise our character and integrity? Sports ARE entertainment and should not be taken so seriously, for sure, but to compromise morality? Sports are part of our lives, though entertainment, and the people associated with it should practice good moral character, honesty and integrity or else we can begin to refer to ALL sports like professional wrestling. Now THAT'S entertainment with no pretense about what place it occupies in our "entertainment" lives...... Delete the sports pages and place all news in the "Entertainment" section of the paper? Its proper place then??? Right?
