There are several things that need to be considered for facility space if we're talking about putting up a football stadium.
1. The Stadium is the big piece, but there are others. 2. Practice facility, preferably an indoor/outdoor, should go with it. 3. That practice space is needed to help Riverside HS and its relocated track team, unless the school were to practice at Shorewood. 4. You also need office space for all the coaching staff added from football, as well as all the support staff that you're adding because of it.
By the time that the basketball practice facility is built (that is #1 on the docket), basketball should be moved completely into the new space, freeing up 10 offices (5 mbb, 5 wbb) in the back of the athletic department for all the added people in development, marketing and academics. All in all, I think a move to add football would bring 8 non-football jobs to the program, if I remember correctly.
That move would take away #4, but you'd still need coaches' offices and things like that. I wonder if they would put them at the stadium/practice facility or connect them to the rest of the department.
Football is a big move, but one that should ultimately be made.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but the field in your photo looks a lot smaller than the actual Riverside field.
Is there any chance we could see one of these with a stadium at Downer Woods?

Is there any chance we could see one of these with a stadium at Downer Woods? At the least, that would require a change in state law.
i had heard, but haven't been able to verify, that the donation of the Downer Woods property to the University was made on the condition that the University would maintain the land as woodland. If that is the case, i don't think there is any chance of using the land for anything but what it currently is.

Not to be a dick, but can the Admins of the board please create a new forum under Other Sports that the pipedream that is Football would have its own threads, under the Milwaukee Panther Athletics section create a new area called Milwaukee Panthers Football then all of this will have its own place that I can ignore.
I hate coming into the BASKETBALL SECTION and reading about where someone else want to build a football stadium.

It's going to be a wait for football, but I sure love the discussion to pass the years by haha. I'm gonna make a Teambuilder program soon for NCAA 13.

If you're going to create images that attempt to portray realistic scenarios, please make them the same scale! This can't be done using google earth images. You can tell the differences in the size of the 2 areas you are comparing.
Draw to an appropriate scale.

Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, TN is certainly an appealing option as well. A stadium similar to Finley Stadium would suit Milwaukee's football program's needs very well. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but the field in your photo looks a lot smaller than the actual Riverside field. Is there any chance we could see one of these with a stadium at Downer Woods? Thanks for the observation. I'm currently in the process of re-scaling the stadium to fit into scale with Riverside Park. If you're going to create images that attempt to portray realistic scenarios, please make them the same scale! This can't be done using google earth images. You can tell the differences in the size of the 2 areas you are comparing. Draw to an appropriate scale. I'm currently redoing the stadium to scale. As you mentioned using Google Maps there will always be a margin of error in terms of scale.

I like the idea of buying up the houses between there and Oakland and having the boulevard lead from Lake Park all the way to the football stadium.

Given that Downer Woods is full of dead trees and home to a lot of invasive species coupled with the fact that the university has taken its share of "green" initiatives (especially in the past decade)... some of which could probably be applied to building a stadium... it could be realistically argued that the original purpose for Downer Woods' existence is being fulfilled in a variety of other ways. t's going to be a wait for football, but I sure love the discussion to pass the years by haha. I'm gonna make a Teambuilder program soon for NCAA 13. You could always use mine, just search for user "illwauk" I like the idea of buying up the houses between there and Oakland and having the boulevard lead from Lake Park all the way to the football stadium. What do you think about putting a stadium on the eastern side of the boulevard (where those goalposts are)? It sure looks like more than enough room for a stadium and tailgating. Not to be a dick, but can the Admins of the board please create a new forum under Other Sports that the pipedream that is Football would have its own threads, under the Milwaukee Panther Athletics section create a new area called Milwaukee Panthers Football then all of this will have its own place that I can ignore. Uhh... I hate coming into the BASKETBALL SECTION and reading about where someone else want to build a football stadium. It seems to me that if basketball were actually engaging the Milwaukee students, alums and (most importantly, IMO) community the way it should be, there wouldn't be so much talk about a "pipedream." It goes back to what I've been saying... the athletic department of the school with the most Wisconsin students should, at the very least, offer the sport that is the most popular amongst Wisconsinites.

While I like the football discussion, I would agree that this should be in one of the other sub-forums.

The admin's on vacation. I don't have privileges to move it to a different forum, although I'd move it if I could.
Just deal with it for a couple days til he gets back, the whole thread can be moved so everything will be intact.
