First of all the "cheating Pearl years" took place at Tennessee. Secondly, RJ didn't have recruits to bring over from his former team. Thirdly, how many HL championships did pmck win?... Elsewhere?
FWIW - pmck was 7-9 against Milwaukee & 1-1 against Fairleigh Dickinson.

FWIW - pmck was 7-9 against Milwaukee & 1-1 against Fairleigh Dickinson. Pearl also cheated while at Milwaukee, having recruits over to his house. This is the same offense he committed at Tennessee, he just did not get caught lying to the NCAA. Granted Jeter did not have another team to steal recruits from, but he did inherit a loaded team from Pearl and he had a year to get his own recruits. Take away Jeter's first year and he is just over a 500 coach. Jeter has the HL championships but one of them was with Pearl's team and the other was a three way tie with Milwaukee winning the tie breakers. Post season play clearly showed Milwaukee to be the third best team. Green Bay may have lost to Fairleigh Dickinson but they have also beaten Marquette and Wisconsin. Don't you have some close calls against Parkside? Take away both coaches first years where they were playing with the previous coaches players and their records against each other come out in Kowalczyk,s favor. Kowalczyk is gone, get over it. If any team should be upset with Kowalczyk, it would be Green Bay, but they seem to be prepared to move on.

Cleveland State would've been outright champs but we beat them in the last week of the regular season, at there place! If they were that much better they would've tcob on their home court and been outright champs.

Not counting his first year, Jeter's won more in his Milwaukee tenure than Green Bay has won in 15 years. Since 2000, Milwaukee is 14-9 against Green Bay. Both schools have had three coaches in that time. If you want to get after Bruce Pearl for having recruits at his house, so be it. It was a secondary violation of NCAA rules, something that happens roughly 1,000 times per year in men's basketball alone in D-I. The violation was self-reported and the NCAA took no action because, after all, who gives a sh*t if a coach is recruiting at his house or his office? Let's be perfectly honest. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Green Bay has cheated in men's basketball. Don't get on our case because our compliance department actually has the manpower and resources to do their job.

Not like Pearl made his players shoot free throws in the nude.

Most of the comments about Kowalczyk on this board, from what i have seen, are long-time running jokes, started because pmck is a pompous ass who regularly merits ridicule (e.g. his comments about Fairleigh Dickinson). He appears to think himself to be a much better coach than his record would ever justify.
There's no obsession with him on this board. He's a convenient target. If you want to argue we're shooting at fish in a barrel, you've got a point.
If all you really want to do is crap on Bruce Pearl, maybe you are the one with an obsession.

Except you can't take away RJs first year. You can't cherry pick stats. He was the coach. He deserves the record he has. Every coach inherits a team and no one ever says Bo Ryan is only 229 - 80 if you take away his first year. RJ is still 87-81 if you do, and that's only going to improve dramatically.
Don't you know after all the cupcakes he's played year after year to pad his record, pmck is only 124 - 130 if you take away 2008?

If you take away Rob's first year, he still has a Horizon League regular season Championship and an NIT appearance, something Green Bay hasn't had since 1996. I was in third grade.

Rob Jeter, who's been a head coach since 2005, has 109 career wins or an average of 15.6 and counting.
Tod Kowalczyk, who's been a head coach since 2002, has 144 career wins or an average of 14.4 wins and counting.
Jeter's teams have appeared in the NCAA tournament (once) and NIT (once); Kowalczyk's clubs have twice appeared in the CBI, whatever that is.

I think this is the real comparison.
When Milwaukee coaches leave they move up to BCS schools like Madison and Tennessee.
When the Green Bay coach leaves, he goes to ... Toledo.

In all honesty jhart, and not to stick up for anyone else, Green Bay's only 'real' coach went to Madison too.

Yes, I'm well aware of that. When Bennett was at GB, I rooted for those teams. I chose to ignore it in this case.
