Although I don't think it matters now. They've been here. They see the quality. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using proboards

But if major donors believe Milwaukee is a strong add and they have the ears of the decision-makers, that can only be good for us. Maybe it changes minds, maybe it doesn't Sent from my SM-G930R4 using proboards

Fully expect the MVC to announce today that Valpo has accepted full membership into the MVC. I have no expectations that we are part of that equation.
However, I think the Horizon League will be looking to move quickly. Could see them adding Fort Wayne, IUPUI and a surprise school: Morehead St? Omaha? Even Murray St?
My preference would be for them to add just one quality replacement (if there is one) and stay at 10

Would be perfectly fine with just the 1 to stay at 10 for now but maybe next year look to go to 12. Adds a little intrigue for future recruits for all teams. I think besides Green Bay and UIC, every team has a pretty good class they're bringing in for this year so I'm expecting the HL to be very competitive in conference and depending on scheduling, outside of it as well. Which hopefully attracts better mid major programs then the current list.

It will depend on if they want to expand the footprint I think.

At this point not sure there is, especially with this list of candidates, but maybe we create some buzz with the conference this season and maybe draw more worthy list of candidates for next season.

The worthy candidates who would come after a strong season in the HL next year would also come right now. Robert Morris is #10. Urban school fits the profile of the conference. Gets us into the Pittsburgh recruiting market. Close rival for YSU, CSU that's also an easy drive for UDM, Oakland, NKU, WSU.

I saw you posted a map of the possible HL future with us adding Morris, Belmont and Murray St.. Are those the 3 that would be interested in joining this year? And if not would they be more tempted after a good HL season?

I realize that people think the pickings are slim, but I believe there's a few scenarios that would leave us stronger as a conference. I'm in the process of researching and I'll have it all laid out in a PantherU blog post, probably tomorrow.

Valpo leaving hurts the league no question. Whether we add 1 or 3, we;re not replacing Valpo. Butler leaving really set the league back, as it was undoubtedly our strongest team, and they aren't a mid-major anymore, really, not in the Big east. will be interesting to see who team 10 is.

Big DWSU brought up the idea that we should add Grand Canyon and NMSU as well as any strong basketball programs, even if it's just on a short-term basis. I'm warming up to the idea.
