I accidentally deleted my post, but I thought this was a done deal too, but according to Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com, all 10 remaining teams are at the table working on a deal that would save the league. This story changes by the minute...
It is Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com, the Texas Rivals site. Don't know if he's being paid behind the scenes or what have you, but he's been correct and the first to report about 99% of what's been happening. I've come to trust this source because of his ability to break news. Even Joe Schad, who was the one to report (today anways) that Texas and others were on the verge of committing to the Pac-10. Before Joe reported this, Chip was already talking about salvaging the Big 12.
There is no "done." At best, this is a brief hiatus. I give the B12 a 50% chance of surviving in something like its present form over the next three years. The BE, about 20%.
"She would constantly try to throw [Coach Jeter] off and create distractions," said another source who worked in the athletic department and no longer is at UWM. "All the time. It was bad. I felt bad for him all the time. I told him, 'You're a bigger man than I am.' It was brutal. Sabotage was in the cards." -- From the JS story, March 17, 2016

FWIW, the new Big 12 deal includes provisions that prevent conference members from leavin the conference... Essentially, they're "locked" in together...Big 12 is much more stable with this tv deal they're going to get then they were before...

I'm very anxious to see how this TV deal ends up in '12. Iowa State will start averaging $17M?! Are u f'n kidding me?! Texas screwed themselves out of a lot of money. I'll be very intrigued to see how the LSN pans out b/c I doubt they'll have enough programming to keep interest outside of football, baseball and basketball games/previews/recaps.
