I know I'm probably gonna catch some crap for this, and hopefully the few people on here that can put my face with the name will back me up, but i don't think anyone on this board has anymore of a right to be upfront than anyone else that goes to the game. I have been attending games going on 5 years now as a student (I know) and this year I am sad to say I left the student section for many of the games due in large part to some of the egos on this board. I don't really know who is who, and to be honest it's not one of my top priorities to find out. Until we as students have to start paying for tickets, or a system to reserve seats is established, these are going to be the breaks.
I know a few other original "krazies" that have since left the student section for similar reasons, and it is rather disheartening to me. Obviously no one WANTS to hear the dropping of F-bombs, but keep in mind it is a COLLEGE student section, and we are considerably nicer than many other schools (If any of you have attended a Duke or UNC game you will know what I am talking about)
This board doesn't make a fan a "fan". And without the ESPN crowd the atmosphere would be a whole hell of a lot different. Just accept everyone, roll with punches, do whatever cliche you would like to apply, however keep in mind that to a majority of the fans who attend, it's just another game. This program has come a long way, and I would hate to see it lose interest over something like this.
GO PANTHERS!

Im just thinking that we should have a group of people to take charage and keep some order.
The room up front is just something nice. Not a big deal, I usually dont like to be up front anyways.
This wont stop the F Bombs in any means but it would just be nice to do. To keep the section growing

Well this is my thing. Like at bigger schools, you get the core guys to buy into the "Generals", they then yell and get on those guys from not listening to them. Also, if people see where the Generals get to be during the games. They will straighten up, cause maybe they would want to be there. If you really want to be stubborn, remind them that these games are free for a reason. That this privillage can be taken away for a WHOLE season if we deem it so. On another note: Let me know, Im ready to meet, anytime to work somethings out.! Someone leading cheers is one thing. What you're suggesting sounds like the freaking army. It's supposed to be fun, and being threatened and yelled at doesn't make it fun. People follow leaders because they respect them not because they're being ordered around, told to shut up etc. Seems that maybe the best way to accomplish this is to ignore the jerks and get a couple knots of people together to start cheers together. I think you'll find that most of the section will join in.

Yeah, when I used the term Generals, it was loose and such. I don't think yelling would be good, but a general could go talk to the guy face to face.
Tom, Friday night we should begin laying out the plans for next season.

Jimmy, if you are getting the meeting for next year started already... hold off a bit... its still march madness and we need to worry about our panthers in the tourney and not next years student cheers... give it some time between the time the panthers season officially ends before you make the meeting... let everyone catch their bearings and everything like that. and as the senior member of the left hand side for next year... Fan, 6thman, flamerimnotone all graduate leaving me (for those of you who dont know im the one with the real mullet usually covered by a stocking cap or a headband... although i cut it during our two game losing streak, and im the one who yells WHOS HOUSE for the rest of the students who have half a clue to repeat OUR HOUSE...) count me in for the meetings... we should talk to Bud about letting a few of us into a roaming lane and keep the rest of the students on the risers... it would help shorter people see over the cameras and us guys i.e. jimmy who is about 6'4 and im about 6'3 and letting certain people who take the time and are a little bit more dedicated than the typical fan... bball30 if you would like to join us in this group and help turn the student section around be my guest... you seem like you have some ideas brewing and if not then let us know what we should do if this "Krazy Kourt" comes to fruition... we should start it with a group of people who attended many games and then they pass it on to people at the last home game whom they see at events like midnight mayhem and weeknight games or games against CSU or YSU all the way up to seeing them wait in line 4 hours early for the tournament games... this would give the new fans something to work for and a reason to not be a TV game fan also it would create an official tradition instead of legend passed through story and this board to the newer fans.... but if you do meet... count me in... via IM or email let me know

Exactly...I didnt try make it out to be us yelling at people and therefor making the games not so much fun to be at. Just oragnized group of people. I like Bretts idea as a roming group almost.
But lets do wait til the season is over...
then worry bout it. and til then just keep our boys going!

These thoughts are a step in the right direction. Back when the Klotsche Krazies were originated we would have meetings and discussed many of the facets of Milwaukee Basketball. We would design the new t-shirts (i.e. the we are the other 33%) and come up with plans to get more students to games. The students are starting to show, and now the problem is keeping everyone on the same page. One thing that helped with this in years past was the few male cheerleaders we did have. So if you guys are serious about getting the cheers going, you should contact the cheerleading coach (nice lady). Also I would just recommend before going straight to bud that you talk to Chuck Lang, might be a little more effective initally.

A formal organization might be the way go. A student booster club. Members get better seats etc. BUT they also help promote ALL UWM sports and promotional events on campus.
That way you lend legitimacy to whoever is leading the students at the games. As it is now, many may look at you guys and think "who died and made you god?"

Cool...see we set a date to meet as a group. Come up with what we want. Then talk to the proper people to get the ball moving. I think we have the people willing to step up, thats not a problem. Now we implement the original goals and get it done.

well, i would like to say that it is great that a group is starting to get together. Back in the day, when we still played at the Klotsche we had leaders, im talking of the days of Devin, Freak, Milt, etc. These were people that were always willing to start cheers and people listened. The Student Black and Gold Club was started and was an official UWM Student organization that could recieve money from the Student Government if they wanted. I can still remember the Orgy cheers and the Condom cheers. It was thought by a lot of us a few years ago that the die hards should get front row seats, but unfortunatly this isn't possible. There is no way for a row to be guarenteed to a group of students. Especially since there are is no assigned seating in the student section. When i was the chair of the PantherPride committee this was something that I brought up with the athletic department. Its not possible to reserve seating. Unfortunately the only way to get the seats you want is to arrive early, or get a whole bunch of people to save a spot for ya. That is the way it worked for us back in the day. Anyways, i applaud the idea of getting a group back together and getting some organization back into the student section. You have to start tradition, and the only way to do that is to teach freshman what needs to be done.

Its not possible to reserve seating. Unfortunately the only way to get the seats you want is to arrive early, or get a whole bunch of people to save a spot for ya. 90% of the time getting the area isn't a problem as the left side has been to games hours in advance. The problem has been the pushing and movement of people from the back to the spots. I hate to sound like an old man but I really don't see how they have allowed the aisles to be stacked so full of people. The current layout of the Student Section is only asking for someone to get hurt. For all of the policing that the guards do on the front of the crowd, you would think this couldn't happen. Once you regulate clear aisles, then everything should fall into place. This won't be the orgy-moshpit that we currently have going but it shouldn't be too much of a problem considering that basically every other school in the nation doesn't do a moshpit. I understand your point uwmsafan that student tickets do not have seating nor assigned spots, but a backstage pass/or wristband would suffice to show who belongs in the front segment. I don't see a problem with at least a portion of these passes or wristbands being handed out for free to fan organizations like the SBGC and the rest can be passed out to other organizations. You can't teach people if they can't see you.

I dont want people to think Im "god" of the student section. But maybe work with the Athletic Dept and the Cell to let the leaders or die hards in first as a reward.
that could work right?
