I dunno, I think a lot of Milwaukee people will use it to get to Madison for Badger football and a lot of Madison people will use it to get to Milwaukee for Brewer games. And Panther soccer. You would be very wrong on ALL counts.

It's not the same UIC this year!!!!!!! Look out because a new direction, leadership and attitude are already present at UIC. Not to mention some new faces. If the old guard was still in place with the same people I'd be predicting a 9th place finish, like everyone else, but not now............... The new attitude and what sounds like new, no nonsense leadership by Coach Moore and his staff signal a new beginning and a new warning to Horizon League teams........... You can no longer pencil in the "W" and get a lackluster performance from them. A total change in team characterisitcs on the floor will be seen. We won't be challenging for the conference title this year but I think we can actually shoot for and achieve a middle of the pack finish, realistically, 4 thru 7....... Gonna surprise some people and hope to be the team that "no one wants to play" at tournament time.... The direction has changed significantly at UIC, so look out. Of course it has to be proven on the court, but the future looks much brighter today.............. There is even a better feeling on campus from other departments and staff..... A rebirth, so to speak...... Looking forward to a great rivalry, again, with Milwaukee and two former Bo assistants going head to head. Good luck and let's have fun..............

I'm sorry Axaguy, I'd like to believe you; the conference needs UIC to be good.
Paul Carter seems to be a very good player; he's on my Preseason Newcomer team that comes out in October. Robo Kreps, in my mind, deserved at least honorable mention All-League last year (but we don't have honorable mention). Zavion Neely is a great scoring guard, capable of putting 30 on a team.
But after those guys, I just don't see anything else. K.C. Robbins averaged four points and four rebounds as the Flames' only post player, and there's nobody else that is even serviceable on the team.

Black Panther MKE, you are right and like I said, it has to be proven on the court BUT the attitude has definitely changed. In my opinion, Robo is not a D1 guard. He can hit the three as the guy who gets the open look when the ball kicks back to him on the "other" side. Other than that his game is really suspect at this level. He's probably a nice kid and tries hard but the skills are just lacking. Not really a good ball handler, certainly not a point guard. Not an offensive threat off a drive or penetration, can't create his own shot, consistently and has mishandled the ball on many key occassions. If he is starting, we really aren't deep or don't have anyone else willing to work hard enough to displace him. Neely will benefit from some good, concentrated coaching. Can be a good point guard and run an offense. Can penetrate, can score, can go to the hole. Could be the floor leader we need. Robbins is a stiff. Big, slow footed, not really comfortable around the basket and not what I call tough.....Needs coaching very badly, could improve some if he had some direction. Vandermere would have been a "killer" with some coaching and direction. He wouldn't be playing in Europe at 7' 1", with some skills............. Can't teach height........ BUT, if these guys get some first class attention and coaching. Individual skills will improve along with the "team" skills and hopefully we can be better at the end of the year than the beginning. Contibutions from the new, unknown guys wil be important and some defections may still occur after we find out if "everyone's" on the same page. Maybe some guys left from the old regime may not "buy in" and be the last of the "addition by subtraction" guys... I'd like the entire Horizon League to be strong and to present entertaining, competitive games to the audience, night in and night out. Of course, I'd like UIC to be right in the middle of that. Would love a great, competitive rivalry with Milwaukee. Be good for both of us. Lots of fans going to each other's places for a great game and trip to a great city, each way. Even with the unknowns, I think we can be better just beacuse we now have a direction, leadership, a staff experienced in teaching and coaching and a real desire to improve. If we play hard for 40 minutes and stay close maybe we can win a few some thought we would lose........... I'll be watching... Let me know if your coming to Chicago.....I get to Milwaukee on business and for Marquette games.....

I don't think UIC's schedule might be out anytime soon. They put an add out, still looking for a home game.

Wow:
Simonton, a 6'11", 220-pound post, is a long and athletic frontcourt star who not only is highly mobile, but also has the ability to drop shots from the perimeter.
6'11" and 220 pounds? How much time will he have to put in in the weight room to survive D1 basketball?
