Here's an opinion from CBS Sportsline's Dennis Dodd: Fastest-dying story: Those lovable Panthers of Wisconsin-Milwaukee were abandoned by coach Bruce Pearl about 13 minutes after the school's regional loss to Illinois. Has any tournament darling dropped from sight quicker? Pearl is now at Tennessee, and UW-M reverted to being just another hyphenated program. That's right, we've dropped from sight even though we return six super-seniors, Big D, Al and at least a good portion of a top 30-40 recruiting class for next season. We'll see who's dropping on whom when Milwaukee meets UWGB next season.

Hilarious. Our team has the potential to be even better next season.
Meanwhile UWGB lost everyone. Nothing to more to say. Loyola, WSU and Detroit are our main threats next year. UWGB will be lucky to make it in the top 5.
Later, UWMfreak

Where in this column was he saying UWGB was going to be loaded?
At ease, soldiers ... geez.

Ok, I'm sorry I posted that now. Maybe I should have put my own comments on with it. I actually thought he was a little out of line with it. I think that UWM will still be very good next year, and I don't think he was saying that they won't be good next season. I also wasn't saying that UWGB will be better than UWM (we'll leave that for the teams to decide when the games come next season). It's just that, in the world of college basketball, it's hard to stay in the spotlight if you're not a power team from one of the top 10 conferences.
Anyway, I probably shouldn't have even posted this, or at least put more explanation on it. I wasn't thinking this morning. Sorry abot that.

I want people to underestimate us next year its just more of a reason for Joah and company to schdule some tough non conferance and come out and dominate...we will be a force

I think he means that the happy story has died. There seems to be no critique on the team's actual probably success...just their happy story that America loved. That part is probably true. There is only one mid-major in this country that most people care about like majors...that is Gonzaga. It'll take some time.
As for conference, I see it this way... 1. Detroit 2. Loyola 3. UWM 4. UIC 5. WSU ...Rest of them

And if it is, ARE YOU ON CRACK!?!?...Yes, Detroit has Brandon Cotton, but who else?...and LOYOLA!?..you honestly think they have a better basketball team than us?...even without Ed?...Listen you are an idiot. UIC sucks and they are losing their two best players. For you to rate them higher than Youngstown State is almost a reach. Don't be jealous of our post-season accomplishments. And if you honestly think that Joah Tucker won't tear up the Horizon next year, then you haven't watched a blink of basketball this year. He dropped 32...on ILLINOIS!...You see the conference that way because if UIC is on top then UWM CAN'T be...typical FIB...

I have to agree with this...you can't see UWM as third in the league. UWM has the most returning right now. If I had to make a prediction for next season right now, UWM would top it, followed by Detroit. Then, Loyola, Butler, and Wright State would probably compete for the next three spots, and, depending on offseason development, UWGB and UIC could also be competing to be in the 3-5 area. The bottom would probably be Youngstown State, then Cleveland State. Unless UWM's new coach turns the program into a joke over the summer, the preseason polls won't place them lower than 1.
This, of course, is based on the current state of everything. Things can change over the summer. Let's wait until September or October to make real predictions. However, only a monumental collapse will change opinions on UWM right now.

Name calling too. We'll all see. There's plenty of time and coaching changes are tough. One game does not make a player and one player does not make a team. UIC had the best player in the conference this year and did little. I'm not impressed with UWM role players like Boo, even though I'm impressed with Joah. I think Ed was really really good. Man, disagree, but name calling is dumb. And for the record, FIB is the stupidest thing ever.

For you to rate them higher than Youngstown State is almost a reach. Wait, you're accusing someone of being on crack and then you follow with that ridiculous statement? Meh.... Look out everyone, he scored 32 on Illinois.....that means he's the best player in the world...or it means he had a good game. Tucker's a good player, and he'll be good next year but he can't do it alone. Banks is a better player than Tucker and he couldn't do it alone. I think the loss of McCants is going to hurt him more than you think.... It seems that some of you just don't like the uncertainty of where you'll be in the league next year. One person says UWM finishes third and you go nuts. Well, it's possible. Detroit is going to be good. I have UWM finishing 1st, but who knows. I also have Loyola finishing 3rd, but if they lose Blair, then I move UIC to 3rd.....they're just predictions people....calm the hell down.....

agree with you Big D, losing ed is going to be a bigger loss then people think, not only the 3s but especially on the defensive end. like banks had last year, unless boo steps up big time, which i think he could, joah is just going to be keyed on the whole time, hes not going to have a player like ed to take some of the pressure off. i know joah had a huge second half of the season but this is the same guy who didnt score a point against a Detroit team who i believe at the time didnt even have cotton yet. so you cant just look at one game like illinios and say hes a lock for cpoty. That being said i think hes going to step it up huge and be a force to be recgond with.
