I know im new but ive noticed that just about everygame gets a thread about the stuent section so i just wanted to start this one by asking why no one at the game is loud except the students. yes some people in the stands do get into the game but looking around during the game no one gets on their feet so instead of people asking the students to get loud im gonna put this out for tuesday, its obviously going to be a sellout so im gonna tell the adults in the stands to get loud and into the game. just an observation for improvement.

Lets be loud and whatnot...just not dumb...dont yell at the UDM Cheerleader or Mascott like Saturday, and not be totally rude to the older Alumni base of UWM (old people chat) lets prove to everyone that we arent the rudeest fans in the HL

I am one of the Alum's that cheers my @ass off on the regular stands. There are others who are season ticket holders but we are the minority. It can feel odd at times. I agree that it does look like there is no one cheering in other than the student section, but consider that we (anyone graduating pre-2002) never been to a game when we were students where there was much of a reason to cheer. So I think it may take sometime for a few alums to take in what we are doing as a basketball program.
As the games get bigger and more important, i see and hear more and more people getting into the games vocally. The program and the fan support is growing.

I'll also say that the students are going to be just as rude if not worse on tuesday and theres nothing you or I or anyone else can do about it so you need to realize its not worth whining about on an internet messageboard.

Personally as one of the "old" people on the side (well, older not old), I really didn't mind the "stand up, old people" chant. I thought it was clever ... I'm usually standing at the tip anyway and I'm in the front row of a section.
Maybe some took offense ... maybe switch it to "Stand up, Alumni" for a more PC/friendly version.

i think our section stands up and screams more than some of the students do. hope you all liked the chicken dunk signs. they'll be back tomorrow!
didn't mind the cheer either but for the love of God say "alumni!"

Speaking of chicken, I would like the "judges" to re-analize Boo's dunk. He clearly dunked ... grabbed the rim and all. It just took the ball a bit longer to get down. Therefore, DUNK! Five dunks, not four.

It is a total ripoff of the Michigan St. mascot. It's not like we were swearing at them. drop this subject right now, you are obviously new to the board we have been over this topic before. Our section is fine the way it is, everyone is respectful and if there is someone being stupid we control it. So just get loud on tuesday and have a good time! DROP IT!

Can you run "home court" promotions at a supposedly neutral court during a conference tournament? I am just playing devil's advocate here, but I think there is yet another "loophole" for the chicken (or lack thereof)! haha Edit: But I do agree, Boo definitely had a throwdown!

No, it's just a part of the "chicken conspiracy." And after sitting in front of Loyola fans Friday night, I know all about conspiracies. They are the "experts" on conspiracies. God, they were f#%king annoying.

As much as we would have loved to throw up the 5th Chicken of the day. It is hard to classify Boo's rim rider as a ball "thrown down". Maybe we need to establish a set of standards so we do not run into this debate down the road. A Popeye's Chicken Dunk With Attitude needs just that...ATTITUDE! anything that rattles around does not have the attitude we are looking for as the Chicken Delegation. We are open to contrasting opinions. ;D

Didn't you get the pre-season fan memo distributed to all HL fans? "Any team that wins is automatically part of "the conspiracy".........thereby granting all other teams the ability to unite, with the common thread of being on the wrong side of said conspiracy!" lol ;D It happened to BU, not it is happening to us........guess that is part of the price you pay.

Nope, didn't get that memo. I just remember getting an envelope of $100 bills with the Horizon League logo on it. Nothing out of the ordinary.

trelf, lou, and i discussed this "controversial" dunk at length and had to conclude that this one did not have the "attitude" needed to be 5th chicken worthy. it's gotta go down clean. it's really a shame we didn't start doing this long ago.
