Must win game. Set the tone heading into the regular season by beating a good mid major program. Ed is back, and we have some major payback...
What is the link to their discussion board? Couldnt find it. I expect a few Jasper fans to hit the board this week. They were good guys.

Other than when they play us, I cheer for the Jaspers. Solid program with a great coach, Bobby Gonzales.

Agreed that this is as much of a must win game that you can find in December.
Momentum is key going into January. A win will build on the solid performance we had against Kansas. A loss could be a serious setback.
I expect a solid game, and a UWM win.

Thanks for the link, Jasper00. You have some first-rate fans in NYC. I would love for this rivalry to continue. It's unquestionably one of our more worthwhile NC games.

We follow you guys during the year, keep tabs on how you are doing. It should be a great game if our upper classmen step up. We are pretty much relying on freshmen right now. Do you have any fans making the trip to NYC?

There are some alumni going... deal setup by our alumni assoc. However, I think it was a bit too pricey for most students (including myself) to afford. Me and my buddy thought about making the 14 hour drive up there.

One of the comparisons we can make is their game against South Dakota St. They "squeaked" out their win against them in a 73-69 game. However you can reserve the right to disreguard because this was the Jaspers first game of the year. www.gojaspers.com/article.cfm?doc_id=5565Looks like our boys will need to bring their Defensive game like crazey. The Jaspers sr forward averages 20 points per game. Peter Mulligan will be a tough challenge for our big men and Joah Tucker in particular. Mulligan shoots 37% behind the arch which is pehnomenal, and shoots a perfect 81 % from the free throw line. Which means our guys will have to be squeaky clean playing defense. Just like in the Madison and Valpo game, we can expect him to draw many fouls. Going on, they have a fresh weapon known as Freshman CJ Anderson who has receaved rookie of the week mentions in his confrence. www.gojaspers.com/article.cfm?doc_id=5623 Seems to be the guy who blances out the offense an will be hard for our defence to cover a guy who scores about 14 points per game. And then there is Arturo Dubois who shoots 12 points per game. So in the end we are going to have to have to bring our defence to NY. Hopefully the new found size in Ford and McCoy will help us out. We will have some of our depth back with the return of Mark Pankratz. Non the less i am very nervous about play NYC and we have a definet hill to climb to win. This game will not be easy. It will require big games out of both Ed and Joah. and some clean defense. Some high points, we have been averaging more rebounds than Manhattan, 44 rpg to the Jaspers 35 rpb. However, i still reserve notions against this because the Jaspers only have played 7 games. But i always thought the less gmaes you have, less your average can be dragged down, except you got played a blow out game. Which the Jaspers really havnt been apart of yet this year.

Pearl waiting to exhale Taxing stretch almost over[/color] By DAN MANOYAN dmanoyan@journalsentinel.com Posted: Dec. 29, 2004 It’s not that Bruce Pearl doesn’t love the holiday season as much as the next guy, but he’ll be happier than most to tack up his 2005 calendar. December has been brutal for Pearl’s UW-Milwaukee Panthers and he’s ready to turn the page on 2004. After opening the month with an 89-55 home victory over South Dakota State, a program playing its first season of Division I basketball, the Panthers have been on the road for five straight games. When they play at 6 tonight at Manhattan, it will be the Panthers’ sixth consecutive road game. No less than five of those teams, Illinois-Chicago, Valparaiso, Wisconsin, Kansas and Manhattan, were NCAA tournament teams last year. DAN MANOYAN's pre-game coverage continues at: www.jsonline.com/sports/coll/dec04/288448.aspPreview: UWM at ManhattanPosted: Dec. 29, 2004 Teams: UW-Milwaukee Panthers (6-3) vs. Manhattan Jaspers (4-3). When: 6 p.m. tonight. Where: Draddy Gymnasium, Riverdale, N.Y. Broadcast: WOKY-AM (920). Coaches: UWM’s Bruce Pearl (fourth season, 66-35, .653) and Manhattan’s Bobby Gonzalez (seventh season, 98-55, .640). About the Jaspers: With three starters including Luis Flores gone from a team that beat Florida in the first round of the NCAA tournament last season, the Jaspers aren’t the team they were. But make no mistake, they are athletic and deep and will present a formidable task for the Panthers. Freshman forward C.J. Anderson has already won four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rookie-of-the-week honors, including last week when he scored 22 points on 7-for-9 shooting in a loss to Arizona. Peter Mulligan, whom Panthers fans will remember for throwing in a long three-pointer to end the first half of Manhattan’s game with UWM in February at the U.S. Cellular Arena, leads the Jaspers with a 20.7 scoring average. Dunzz, Gotta say it "....and shoots a perfect 81 % from the free throw line." Uuuuummm, I was never great at math and all, but I thought it usually took at least 90% to be considered "perfect" from the line..... Sorry...just had to dog ya!

Should be a good game tonight. Neither of our teams have an impressive resume for an at-large yet, but a win tonight would build a case.
UWM 75, Manhattan 71. ;D
Fire up Milwaukee!

I hear ya, but I m not mad at ya, 81% is still clutch, perfect, excellent, supurb, money, cash money, and so on. Let me know if you dont like those adjectives either
