CAN YOU SAY VALPO?!?!?! We're going to OVERTIME!!! A good basket by Hill with 6 seconds left and then a block but a foul on McCants with 1.3 seconds left and the best shooter in the MAC Conference got 2 shots but missed the seconds one. Let's put this one away!

Good win Panthers!! A big OT win after the Panthers set the net on fire in Overtime with a 13-0 run to start it off. McCants score the first 8 points in OT. Also a great game for Boo with 23 and Hill with 15. Looking good going into the gave vs. Detroit at the Cell on Monday!

imagine what this team could do if ed, boo , and joah all have on nights at the same time?
I liked how even though the shots were not falling they never gave up. And James wright carried them in the first half great win
go panthers

Very frustrating loss for Manhattan - just had to make one free-throw to win, with a career 85% FT shooter at the line, and he gets frozen out. Once McCants got started in the OT, the Jaspers never had a chance - didn't know what hit them. We were sitting there all night, waiting for the refs to put the home-job on, but this bunch must have forgotten that the home-team wears white. Good game and a tough win by the Panthers. A very nice showing by a small, but vocal group of Milwaukee fans who made the trek to humble Draddy Gym. I hope that this series will continue next year - watching the game, UW-M seems to be a slightly taller version of Manhattan's team with a very similar style of play. And in the post game show, Manhattan Coach Bobby Gonzalez called UW-M a "Championship team", and "they will win the Horizon League this year". Good luck the rest of the way.

One thing consistant in milwaukee basketball.
When one of the star players is not doing well, another player on the team steps up and becomes phenominal. One thing is for sure, it seems like only one player will shine in a half or a game.
For the whole game, McCants was not there, Tucker was not there, but boo daivs was there. I hope Johnjay has some good pictres of Boo putting the 3's down.
The free throw shooting was what kept us in the game, and we did awesome. For example,
Boo Davis - 7-7 CLUTCH! Chris Hill - 9-10 Ed McCants - 7-8 James Wright - 3-4 Tucker - 5-6
Thats just great, thats what college ball is about being clutch. In the end we were 35-40. and TThank the basketball gods for willing mr. perfect from making his last free throw and forcing over time.
Major Props to james wright. for getting 6 count them 6 offensive rebounds!!!!!!!
Let me hand it to the Jaspers, CJ is a pimp, and he will go to the NBA, i will take that to the bank.
I agree with Lang, if ed, joah, and boo were all on in one night it would rain points like crazey. Its just too bad the only one of them can be hot in a half.
Ed - i will agree to say that hes back again this game, even though he was a late bloomer. These are his final numbers. 22 McCants, Ed 6-13 2-3 NOt freakin bad at all. Thats about 50% total.
His best was in OT. No body can denie he doesnt his spot and his acholades.
IM out. you guys enjoy.

big win indeed. Boo stepped up and played by far the best came of his college career. Maybe this will give him some confidence and carry his performance onto the horizon league. With teams scouting Ed so much and putting so much emphasis on stopping him how clutch would it be to have someone on the court next to him putting up similar numbers, when ed gets doubled, someone has to step up and hit the open shots and hopefully it can be boo. I am glad to see chris hill earned his starting role back. He has to be out there for us to win, he controls the tempo of the game and is everything milwaukee basketball stands for. Props to bruce for getting all 3 gaurds into the game and getting a win with it. Free throws were huge in this game and, i think more importantly this wasnt a big win for just the players, but for the fans too because i know if many of us look back a couple weeks ago and see some of the posts, all we had was nothing but bad things to say about this team. So lets get it rolling now and run the table on the horizon.

Here's the only news report you'll find in the NY press. Almost everyone else was at MSG and saw St. John's inexplicably paste NC State. www.thejournalnews.com/newsroom/123104/c0431jaspersweb.htmlLots of complaints about the refs, but Manhattan still had a chance to win it in the end with a free-throw, but didn't get it done. The one mysterious call came late in the first half, when Manhattan's CJ Anderson was fouled, his shot went in, but was waved off by the refs. It was the 8 th foul on UW-M, but Anderson got 2 free throws. That was just beyond strange - if he got 2 FT's then he fouled in the act of shooting, but they waved off the made basket? Apart from that it was a great game.

great win for the panthers! i wish this one would have been on tv. i for one hope this series continues. i like their team, and they seem to have some classy fans. let's hope milwaukee can use this win to start rolling through the conference. you have to love the depth we're starting to see. if it's not ed getting it done it's joah, or boo, or chris, or AT, etc... that's going to be tough to stop, especially when they're all on.
GO PANTHERS!

Well, that clinches it. After what must have been a very difficult loss, all the Jaspers coach and their fans can do is compliment the UWM team and its fans. They are the classiest of all the schools we play, bar none. Here's my hope that this budding rivalry continues.

Not that this means as much now, but ... Any great win for Manhattan is also a great win for us.
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Peter Mulligan scored 27 points to help Manhattan shock Wichita State 64-59 on Monday night, giving the Shockers their first loss of the season.
C.J. Anderson added 17 points and seven rebounds for the Jaspers (5-4). Manhattan shot just 40 percent for the game but held Wichita State (9-1) to 35 percent shooting.
Jamar Howard led the Shockers with 14 points and nine rebounds. Randy Burns added 10 points, but he shot just 3-of-13 (23 percent) from the field and had four of Wichita State's 18 turnovers.
The Shockers opened the game on an 8-0 run before the Jaspers switched to a full-court press, holding Wichita State to 31 percent shooting in the first half.
Manhattan took a 32-29 lead with under a minute remaining in the half, but Sean Ogirri nailed a 27-foot desperation 3-pointer as time expired to tie the game at 32.
Wichita State opened the second half on an 11-4 run, including a fast break alley-oop from Burns to Howard, and capped with a driving layup by P.J. Couisnard to give the Shockers a 43-36 lead. The Jaspers retaliated with a 16-2 run in which Mulligan scored 11 points to give Manhattan a 48-45 lead.
The Shockers then went on a 6-0 run to take a 51-48 lead. Wichita State pushed their lead to 57-52, but the Jaspers were able to come back.
Manhattan pulled within 57-56 with 1:40 remaining. Kyle Wilson then fouled Anderson, who hit a free-throw to tie the game.
Burns then turned over the ball, and Anderson hit a floater in the lane to give Manhattan a 59-57 lead with 45 seconds left in the game.
Anderson then blocked Burns' shot, and Mulligan grabbed the ball, forcing the Shockers to foul. Mulligan hit 5-of-6 free throws to seal the win.
The Shockers' 9-0 start tied the 1920-21 team for the best start in Wichita State history.

Ever wonder what Manhattan's gym looks like? Game photos are a new addition to the photo gallery at Mid Majority. Lots of green NCAA/NIT banners in the rafters! www.midmajority.com
