Hack, were you checking out that site simply because ASU has bowling as a sport? haha j/k "If I have to miss this whole senior season for some shoes, why wouldn't I [sue]?" Nichols said. "I have done too much this summer, working out, staying up here all summer to waste a year. So if it has to come to a legal issue then I will." Correct me if I am wrong, but who is forcing him to miss his senior year? Himself.......what is he gonna do, sue himself? Tomorrow, I just might get up and decide that I don't like the dress code/policy at work........not go in, and sue for lost wages because I "had" to miss work. What an idiot! On a side note, when we wore Adidas in the mid 90's I didn't like them at all. The gear was good, the running shoes were good, but the bball shoes......not so much. But then again, they were free, so I wasn't about to sit out or complain. I am sure that Adidas has come along way as far as comfort/technology in the past ten years. After all, it isn't like we are talking about the LA Gear shoes that Marquette wore in the early 90's. LOL Remember those things? They literally fell apart during games!

I have a friend who's father won't wear New Balance shoes or allow anyone in his family to wear NB shoes because he blew his knee out wearing them. Its just something that he swear affected his knee (it happened it was the first pair of NB shoes he had ever worn when he blew out his knee) and was a partial cause to his injury. I dont blame him, but he isnt under any sort of contract to wear New balance shoes so he is free to do what he wants.
I personally wont listen to the Rx Bandits CD - Progress in my car anymore because i put it in once and got into a car accident shortly after. but again, i have no contractual obligation to listen to that cd in my car.
This dude on the other hand is required to wear Adidas unless he can find some actual medical evidence or medical support that says he cant wear adidas. so, he may hate them, but he is stuck.
Panther30 - Did they have the LA Gears that had lights in the heels? cuz that would have been awesome....

With the right representation this could make for a very interesting argument. Amatuer athletes etc.
Now in the real world c'mon had nothing to do with the injury.

If he wants...he can work with Adidas to make a shoe, or find one that will work with his ankle/knee so that he doesnt have to sit

They are not letting that kid wear Nikes no way no how. I don't see where the problem has been solved unless they sew the 3 stripes on his Airs.

JONESBORO, Ark. -- Arkansas State senior guard Jerry Nichols, who missed practices during the preseason because he didn't want to wear a certain brand of shoes, is out for the season because of an injured left knee that will need surgery.
Nichols was averaging 5.3 points per game this season. He was the Indians' leading returning scorer after averaging 9.6 points in 2004-05.
"We are so terribly disappointed," Indians coach Dickey Nutt said Thursday night. "It is a major, major blow to this basketball team. He will be sorely missed."
Nutt said it wasn't clear when Nichols' injury occurred -- perhaps in a loss at Tennessee-Martin on Dec. 1. Nichols missed the last few minutes of that game and hasn't played since.
Nichols was initially believed to have hurt his hamstring, but an MRI revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Nichols had the same type of injury to his right knee before coming to Arkansas State.
Nichols missed practices during the preseason because he didn't want to play in Adidas shoes, which athletic director Dean Lee said the Indians were contractually obligated to wear. Nichols had already had two knee operations and said he was initially hurt while wearing Adidas.
The flap was resolved when the shoe company said it would not require Nichols to wear Adidas, although it hoped he would look through its selection of footwear and pick something made by the company
