Here it is. The ultimate debate. Which game is better? Madden NFL Football or NCAA College Football? NCAA came out today (7/12/05) and Madden doesn't come out till August something, so this is going to be hard to discuss, but we can use previous years as a reference. I have been alternating games each year, and it seems like I look forward to Madden each year. I do however really enjoy the recruiting options of NCAA.

Being a late bloomer into the world of video games (other than a gameboy that i didnt play much my first system was an original nintendo that i bought 3 years ago) i prefer the gameplay in NCAA College Football games. i just have never gotten used to Madden Games. NCAA is a great game for a novice gamer. this year should be better than last because they are going back to using the triggers as directional jukes and there are mini games to play. This year though i am planning on trying madden and making an effort to get better at it. I also prefer NCAA because all you have to do is recruit, and you dont have to deal with the salary and free agent crap.

NCAA - recruiting is top-notch, though this year I've read that recruiting will be a continuous task throughout the season, which might become annoying. after speaking with my associates, the gameplay has changed, but it possible to get used to. the new Heisman storyline sounds very very interesting.
MADDEN - best football game on the planet. always has a good soundtrack to get annoyed with after doing 12 hrs of mini-games and fantasy drafts. new quarterback vision sounds interesting. they always make good changes to make the gameplay more realistic.
EDGE: YOUR CHOICE. NCAA has always seemed a step or 2 behind MADDEN for better gameplay, so in that sense, NCAA is always easier to play. but MADDEN is top notch. I'm personally going to wait until sept to buy.
(jvaldon, turn up the difficulty so its not so easy to win 17 National Championships and 18 Heismans this time)

I would agree that Madden has been historicaly harder to play and succeed, but that is because its realistic. In college you can run almost every down and win, you can't do that in Madden.
In my opinion, Madden has better gameplay, graphics, mini games. This is due to the fact that NCAA has over 200 teams you can play with, and having that many teams might pull away some from being able to do other things in the game.
