MONDAY, June 27, 2005, 5:38 p.m. Bucks' Ford cleared for full contact
Milwaukee Bucks point guard T.J. Ford has been given medical clearance for full contact basketball, the team announced today.
Dr. Robert G. Watkins, of the Los Angeles Spine Surgery Institute, released the following statement: "T.J. Ford has made a full recovery from his spinal cord contusion. He is cleared for full-contact basketball. His prognosis is excellent for a normal basketball career."
Ford sustained the injury in a game against Minnesota on Feb. 24, 2004 and had cervical spine surgery in May 2004.
Picked with the eighth pick in the NBA draft in 2003, Ford averaged 7.1 points and 6.4 assists in 55 games in his rookie season before being injured. He missed all of last season.
This is great news the Bucks in my opinion were a totally different team when TJ was in the line-up. With the Bucks most likely drafting Bogut and hopefully re-signing Redd this up coming year could be very interesting or at the very least exciting w/some good young talent.
