I'd love to get a discussion going about how best to avoid playing multiple non-D1 games every year. Fans of other league members are certainly welcome to participate.

I'm not a fan of playing non-d1's. Yet, I don't hate it. The cost to play them is under 5K. It makes great business sense. Playing H/H with anyone not local you will end up losing money on travel cost, etc. Not like attendance will go by playing Sam Houston St, Manhattan or Montana State compared to a non-D1. I just want the non D1 to be a good program. Not a Cardinal Strich. Looking at other mid to low majors, multiple non D1's is the norm.

I want to jump in here and ask a question. Wasn't there an apology made for last year's schedule and a promise made it wasn't going to happen again? I believe Bart made the promise which tells me he doesn't find this good for the program. Those in the paid positions need to figure it out.

Building a schedule to make great business success is how you remain a mediocre program in a below average conference that is dying. The extra 50-100k that you can save by playing non d1s at home instead of scheduling home & homes or buying d1 home games is never going to turn a program around and is minuscule amount to the alternative. The alternative is playing quality non conference games to prepare your team and build a fan base which will lead to actual long term success and a path to move out of the Horizon for greener grass and better money.

I'm waiting for the full non-conference schedule to be released before commenting.
Lundy's comment from another thread that I bumped today will be kept in mind, assuming he actually said it - "As our tenure goes along, we will make sure we increase the difficulty (of scheduling)."

I know Lundy likes playing non-d1's. Not sure what that number is 1, 2 or 3. Adding overall wins helps out recruiting and give the team confidence.
