Simple. Erik Pratt, Mike Marsh, and Elijah Hutchins-Everett No point guard?! Ratliffe is the point guard we’re getting. I think he will be good this year. Side note: I don’t think anyone truly believes a 5’11” guard is going to play the 2 other than KP. They are most likely delusional if they believe that to be true.

Simple. Erik Pratt, Mike Marsh, and Elijah Hutchins-Everett No point guard?! Between Elijah and KP continuing to develop, and Ratliffe being available from his injury. I’d be pretty content with our PG situation. Especially if we are able to land Pratt. I have a feeling the four of them would be able to improve our numbers from last season.

Bart has openly said Ratliffe is more of an undersized 2, but his ball-handling and quickness should allow him to play that backup PG spot.
Still, we are lacking that traditional facilitating PG. We can have success without one, but with our turnover problems last year, it’s a concern I have.
Perhaps further development from Jamison and an emphasis in the off-season of taking care of the ball is all this team needs.

A grad transfer PG, a 3pt shooter and center.

A grad transfer PG, a 3pt shooter and center. My only issue with that would be having to depend on Darius Duffy too much right out of the gate with only two bigs on the roster. I think he could be good for us, but don't want to have to bank on him being a star immediately.

If someone could make sure Zach Howell and Angelo Stuart each get 5,000 shots up a day this summer I think we'll be fine on the three-point shooting front. BJ needs to get better with ball handling and snap decision-making and he'll be an absolute monster.
But yeah, we need a couple rim-running, glass-crashing monsters. Gimme one who can get out in transition like Ahmad and another with a sweet Wes Unseld/Kevin Love outlet pass and I'll be thrilled.
I would like Elijah to spend this offseason working on being that primary facilitator. If he can max out his gains on ball handling and passing, we're not going to need a starting point guard.
If he can't, I like Dave's idea of getting a grad transfer PG. I'm guessing, however, that player is coming at a premium and we're either sacrificing talent or the Panther Future Fund has to get involved.

The consensus appears to be that we still need a point guard and a big. Thoughts?

The consensus appears to be that we still need a point guard and a big. Thoughts? Looks like we are giving up on a PG. EJ could step into the role nicely with an off-season of development. We need bigs. That seems to be need 1a and 1B at this point.

I wonder what Simeon Murchison's status is? He's a pretty big dude.

I wonder what Simeon Murchison's status is? He's a pretty big dude. I don't think it was ever posted here, but there was a story in the JS in February about Murchison (https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/02/23/simeon-murchison-basketball-journey-inspiration-to-others-with-autism/69927439007/). Sounded like we were his only D1 offer, but I would imagine there is quite a bit beyond basketball in making sure he goes somewhere that is the right fit for him. Haven't seen any more recent updates but it would be cool to see him come here and thrive.
