yes there have been huge collapses before, Phillies a number of years ago and Mets a couple years ago spring to mind- but it would take an truly epic collapse. they have a buffer of 10 games on the wild card teams and us. they look like a 100+ win team .

The Braves have lost four straight and six of their last ten. Fortunately for them, no one else in the division is particularly hot, so they are maintaining their lead for now.
Nothing is guaranteed. Tampa Bay looked like they would run away with everything early in the season, but they have cooled down considerably. They have the second most wins in all of MLB, but they are currently percentage points behind Baltimore in the AL East. Tampa Bay had played four more games than Baltimore, but Baltimore's win percentage is currently at .611 to .606 for Tampa Bay.
The remaining months of the season should be entertaining, to say the least.
(Don't look now, but the fricking Cardinals have heated up. They have won five straight and eight of their last ten, which is tied for tops in MLB over that stretch with the Dodgers and Baltimore. The Crew and Texas are next at 7-3.)

Corbin Burnes throws eight innings of two-hit shut-out ball (100 pitches, 70 of which are strikes), and the Crew has backed him with four runs. Does Burnes get a crack at a complete game? Doesn't happen much these days...
Update: Craig Counsell decided to make a change for the ninth inning, sending Abner Uribe out to pitch. He struck out the side to seal the series win and finish another shutout.

If we're not buyers now, I don't know when we ever will be. Sure, but I don't want to sacrifice highly touted prospects for overly comfortable veteran rent-a-players (see Jonathan Schoop, Eduardo Escobar, etc.). Offensively, there are some good options at Nashville that would help at the big league level (Henry, Naquin, Frelick and Huira), and those guys are hungry. A first baseman from outside of the organization would be nice if he comes cheap. As for the bullpen, the first six that they currently have are nearly as good as it gets. Let's not forget Justin Wilson is on his way as well. I wouldn't mind seeing the Brewers go outside of the organization for steady #7 and 8 bullpen arms. That should not cost much. After deadline-deal duds in the past two years like John Curtiss, Daniel Norris, Matt Bush, Tayler Rogers and Trever Rosenthal, chances are Matt Arnold will get the bullpen acquisitions right for the club this year.

I trust Arnold. This pitching staff, and especially the bullpen, that he and Stearns have assembled is amazing. On the other hand, the offense needs a bat or two. When might we see Chourio? Do you think that he'll provide any help this season?

In Arnold We Trust!
I doubt we will see Churio in a Brewers uniform before September callups in 2024. Expecting a 19 year old to perform at a high level in a pennant race is asking too much. If the Brewers were floundering and playing out the string, then maybe. He is not the answer this season to improve the offense.

And delivered, on both offense and defense. Exciting young player!! I was on hand for his debut!!! You picked what turned out to be an amazing game to go to! The Fox broadcast matched the excitement of the game. The crowd noise was set perfectly. Adam Amin's call was great throughout the night. He and Tom Verducci were right on with their facts and sounded as if they covered both teams all season long. I hope a lot of Brewer fans who do not get Bally watched this one. It was a treat. One of the things I like most about the national broadcast was what was not discussed. No over-the-top emphasis on the things that are discussed on the national broadcasts almost every time - tailgating, the sausages, the slide, cheeseheads and Uecker. I love all that stuff, but it gets pretty repetitive for those of us who watch every game. The broadcast team focused on the game itself and stayed in the present day.

Runners at second and third, nobody out. How many runs does the Crew score?
If you answered, "None, because the next three hitters all struck out swinging," you are correct.
