The Dept of Education released each school's 2021-22 budgets. Very good news as we have increased our budget markedly.

They were paying two coaching staffs. I wonder if they're counting construction costs on the OHOW Center as part of MBB expenses, because I don't know where else that $ amount comes from.

I think a good amount of the budget should be spent on advertising. There are a lot of college basketball fans around the Milwaukee area. Coach does the radio rounds effortlessly whereas it was tooth and nail with some prior coaches to make a point of accepting and asking for radio appearances. Like Jimmy said, if at all possible, WCD should make a Kareem statue in front of the arena by the Walk of Fame at the corner where the marquee sign is. Invite Kareem to come dedicate it before one of our big games (he might do it?!!). It obviously only works when we are winning but when we get the word out consistently, the Arena has an entirely different, palpably electric in-game feel. Ok maybe I jumped the shark on Kareem cutting ribbons but we ARE at our best as a program when we push the boxed-in boundaries of what is possible. My point is simple: Sell the History and Celebrate the History (ours and the other legendary teams who have called Panther Arena home). There are some very compelling commercials that could be made from Arena footage... At least we are not in a sport (well this board at least) that is declining in popularity www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2018/06/18/brewers-own-second-largest-mlb-increase-attendance-so-far/709645002/

I'd rather see them use the money for advertising or marketing to local companies about NIL deals with the players. If they can come up with a plan that actually provides benefit for the companies regarding NIL and athletes, all the easier to sell NIL deals.
Attendance occurs when we win games and drops when we're losing them. Keeping talent and bringing in additional talent is the way to increase the odds of winning games, and therefore higher attendance numbers.

Were the assistant coaches not on one-year contracts anyways? Not always. Surely the back end guys were. But with the length of PBS' contract, you're probably right. Assume it's one PBS contract, I'm guessing this number has to come from the practice facility's construction.
