Thanks for trying to add the choice. I will sit this one out. Didn't you say, no. So, wouldn't that be your answer? When the Panthers win 4 in a row in Florida, we can have a new poll. I didnt think I answered it. When I tried to check to see, I mistakenly answered no. Then I accidentally answered yes. Then no again. So I think I answered yes once or twice, and no two or three times, give or take. Sorry for messing it up.

My takeaway from the braun vs jeter fiasco is that we will NEVER play in the CBI/CIT while braun is AD. I stand corrected. Sad that this is the first winning season we’ve had since jeter left so that’s why it took me so long to find out I was wrong. I guess a reason to be optimistic next year. As for the poll, if we win go for it. Otherwise no. We should have played in the CBI in 2016 with SOMEONE leading the men's basketball program and we should play in one now. We're simply not YET at the level where we should be turning opportunities down.

We should have played in the CBI in 2016 with SOMEONE leading the men's basketball program and we should play in one now. We are simply not at the level YET where we should be turning opportunities down. Please, let's not turn this into another debate about 2016. The "for" argument is unchanged from 2016 because it wasn't really about Rob Jeter. He was already fired. You do it to get your players win-or-go-home experience. I expect we should be holding on to most of our returning contributors, so I want them to have the experience. It's been years, but we compiled a list of teams in the third-tier postseason tournaments and frequently they did better the following years. I wish I had the weekend off because it's a wonderful excuse to go to Daytona Beach in March. Edit: Adding my earlier post to the thread to cut down on space. You hang a CBI banner in the Arena if you win the tournament. They should hang a banner in the Klotsche that has the CBI logo and adds the years participated (so it's 2012 and 2023, then space for more). For the OHOW Center, I think you do something different - the team photo for every postseason team with a plaque listing that team's accomplishments. Small but something. The guys coming back next year should see something for their work.

Is anyone else interested in attending the tournament? I need a vacation anyway, and this lines up perfectly with my schedule.

As with most here, if we win it, sure. If not, I wouldn’t hang one. I am looking forward to a little more Panther basketball, though!

But the department will simply attempt to ignore the history.

Did a little quick research on last years CBI tourney as I was curious what kind of seed we might be looking at.
Bracket: The 16 teams are ranked 1-16 and 1 plays 15, 2 plays 15 and so forth.
Seedings from last year: Last year, the top seed Drake had a 24-10 record and a 85 NET. 4 seed was Stephen F Austin with a 22-9 record and a 123 NET. 8 seed was VMI with a 16-15 record and a 175 NET. 12 seed was N Colorado with a 20-15 record and a 203 NET. 16 seed was IPFW with a 21-11 record and a 235 NET.
It seems looking at this that the tournament basically uses NET rankings for the seedings verbatim from last years tourney. MKE currently has a 211 NET ranking, so judging from last year we would most likely be between a 10-16 seed. Obviously we don't know yet the strength of the tournament field, but this just gives a general area where we may be seeded. Also, if Mercy gets a bid they were below us in NET at 214.

Didn't look yet, the NIT Show runs at 8pm every year. Thinking around Sunday night we should know the field. I believe this is year 3 of the tourney at one site.

I'm somewhat excited for this. No, the HL tourney didn't end how we wanted, but I'm hoping we can make a bit of noise in the CBI.

But the department will simply attempt to ignore the history. 10-8 conference record and 5th place finish for a coach in his 11th season compared to 14-6 and 2nd place for a coach in his 1st season. Playing in the CBI should be made on a case by case basis. Can the argument be made for Jeter to have played in 2016 given the circumstances? Possibly. But letting Lundy get a young team postseason experience after such a great season where expectations were exceeded is a no brainer. And not a fair comparison.

I dont want a banner even if we win this tournament, it this is what it takes to hold the team together so be it. Whats next Cream City Classic Banners? Maybe we should light a yellow beam after every home win. The real move a live Panther as a mascot. Colorado can roll out a buffalo Georgia has a Dog. Let us get an actual god damn panther in the arena next year.
