Wow, some getting high on wins and really down on loses. Maybe, we need to have a midnight rule on here as well. Lol. We’re hungry for a winning team. The last time it felt like we had a winning team was the tournament year (although we were 7-9 in conference that year). That’s almost a decade ago. We haven’t had a top 4 finish since then. It felt like a sure thing a few days ago. Every win brings memories of the Pearl years. Every loss brings memories of the Baldwin years. Ain't that the truth we are a manic bunch

I don’t think there is any way Oakland can catch Milwaukee. The Panthers would have the tie breaker by virtue of beating NKU twice and thus having the better record versus the 3rd or 4th place team. I suppose NKU could theoretically be tied with Oakland at the end of the year, but that would involve a three way tie with Oakland, Milwaukee, and NKU, and Milwaukee would have the tie breaker by virtue of finishing 3-1 in that cluster. Wright State is the only team that could take Milwaukee out of the top 4, and they are likely to win all of their remaining games (PFW, Oakland, Detroit). Also, I think MKE already has the tie breaker against CSU? Beating NKU twice is huge. If we win any remaining game or Wright St loses any game we are guaranteed to finish in the top 4. If Cleveland St wins tomorrow we will still control our own destiny for the #2 seed.

I agree this is not Barts first rodeo but i disagree about the teams makeup He let go a bunch of guys from last year and did recruit guys what he thought would play his style , make him look good and vise versa. Right now his guys stink and at the wrong time . There is no chemisty and the bench is and i will say it again looks very uninterested. None of the guys from last year who left would remotely address the weaknesses this team has. We still wouldn't have good big men who can play more than spot minutes. We still wouldn't have a competent PG/lead guard who can run an offense. Until those 2 big holes are addressed the team is going to have games they get blown out where the offense just isn't good enough or the lack of rebounding literally makes winning impossible.
WE are regressing back to the mean is all. We were never as good as some thought mid season when we beat YSU and were on a roll. We are still better than just about every single person would have expected preseason. BUT, we do have some stuff to address and are dealing with an injury to our best defender, athlete, and someone who is also SUPER important as a rebounder given our big men situation.

UWM hits a roadblock in another blowout loss, this time to Robert Morris Curt Hogg Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
The same issues that have plagued UW-Milwaukee in recent weeks reared their heads again at Robert Morris on Saturday night.
Turnovers. Defensive rebounding. Opponent three-point shooting.
Struggles in these areas spelled doom for the Panthers in a 80-60 loss to the Colonials at UPMC Events Center.
The loss, Milwaukee’s second in a row and third in its last five games, all but eradicated any hopes it had of winning the Horizon League regular season title. The Panthers fell two games back of first-place Youngstown State, which faces two of the bottom three teams in the standings for its final two contests of the regular season.
It again wasn’t the Panthers’ (18-10, 12-6) halfcourt defense that did them in. They held the Colonials (14-15, 9-9) to 45.8% shooting from the field and generally held their own when able to set their defense.
But Milwaukee committed 16 turnovers and allowed 16 offensive rebounds on 33 total missed shots. When the Panthers have struggled, those have more often than not been the areas that have hurt them.
Another concern: for the fifth straight game, Milwaukee’s opponent made double-digit three-pointers and were able to attempt them at a high volume.
"We got outrebounded by 20," Panthers head coach Bart Lundy said. "We got to compete on the glass and can’t give up that many threes. Just got to do a better job possessing the ball, getting good possessions offensively. We can’t play from behind. There's a lot of things we need to correct."
The Colonials shot 12 for 27 on threes, barely outshooting the Panthers in percentage (44.4 to 43.8%) but getting more volume as the visitors made only seven triples. Josh Corbin hit a trio of threes and scored 16 points, one of five Robert Morris players to score in double figures. Jackson Last had 16 points in 20 minutes and Michael Green made four threes and scored 14 points.
Elijah Jamison scored 13 points to lead the Panthers, who once again were missing the athleticism of Markeith Browning on both ends of the floor.
The Panthers trailed wire-to-wire in a blowout loss to Youngstown State on Thursday but got off to a better start Saturday. They held their largest margin of the game at 21-16 midway through the first half before the Colonials proceeded to fire off a 16-0 run to take a 32-21 lead.
Milwaukee was only within single digits for three minutes the rest of the way.

Perfectly stated! We may not all like it, but it's the reality of our situation.

Another disappointing loss. I wonder if something is going on that we aren't aware of. Even without Browning we still won some decent games. The last two games, the Panthers haven't looked like the same team.

The last two games, the Panthers haven't looked like the same team. Only game they won without Browning was Oakland. That was 50, 1st half points by OU. The game versus Detroit, once Browning went out, Davis really heat up. As I said on Saturday..... We miss Browning. He is our best defensive guy. Miss his speed. Miss him taking it to the rim. Him not being in the line up is putting pressure on Freeman and stress on KP and EJ. KP looks tired. I also think the ankle is not right after the injury at NKY. His rebounding is not the same.

Please don't get mad at me saying this yet again, but I think we *do* have some servicable bigs on this roster - including a quality rebounder in Bol, who was used for only 5 minutes vs RMU while we were outrebounded by 20. Our problem is that we refuse to play our servicable bigs at the same time.

Well, there’s that, and if we’re looking beyond this year, we’re losing Bol, Rand, and VBJ after this year, and the players signed don’t really match their size. If I remember right, as of right now, our tallest player currently signed may be JT.

Obviously Milwaukee is in a funk right now, but perhaps the last game was also a statement game for RMU. They crushed YSU by 19 tonight, keeping our (very) slim hopes for a conference championship alive.

I think that as others have suggested we've regressed to the mean. We pulled some early and midseason wins out of nowhere and now with the loss of Markeith, the wheels have come off. Still, it was a fun jig while it lasted!

Still, it was a fun jig while it lasted! Was? That sounds like what a Done Club member would say. Let's live in the present. Most of us on here are entering our favorite time of the year as sports fans, March Madness. Our team is in it. They are very much alive for a shot at the HLT title, along with eight other teams. I have felt that way all year and continue to do so. Panther fans, as much as any others should know all about this despite having a down cycle late in the regular season (e.g. 2014 HLT title and 2017 HLT finals game). I wonder how many YSU fans are referring to the season in past tense after losing at RMU by approximately the same margin that we did three days earlier. I am guessing not many. To me, it IS a fun jig that I want to last as long as possible.
