"Don't need to be so negative about it." Clearly Markeith is what we are missing and you seem to think even having him out there and not being 100% effective won’t help. You are putting words in my mouth. I said right after Markieth went down he "is the heart and soul" of the team. I said after he went down with an injury last year it really hurt the team. Not sure why you think when I say the team needs to learn how to succeed without him that that's negative. 70 % of Markieth is far from 100%. It turns him from an athletic freak to an average player, at best. And those that know me on here are probably chuckling at your comment. Over the years I've been one of the most positive posters on here ("seashells and balloons").

It seems to me that Markeith and B.J. are like Batman and Robin. It took me until this week to realize that B.J. is Robin.

Its time for some Bart magic talk at halftime While he’s already accomplished more than his predecessor, it sure seems that we may have overrated Lundy in his first year. I’m not saying he isn’t doing a good job, and I’m not saying he couldn’t be great in the next few years, but the “In Lundy We Trust” tshirts may have been a bit premature. Just because this team is struggling at the moment, should not reflect on the miracle coach has pulled off. This is all a hodge podge of transfer portal, recruits for a DII school, JC transfers and a couple remaining players from the predecessor, that was picked to finish 9th in the conference. To be in the running for first place in the conference, along with a likely a top-4 conference finish in his first year in the conference is a HUGE accomplishment. I'm eager to see what happens as he gets more of "his guys" and has some experience and knowledge with the conference.

BJ is just cold and trying to hard to get out of his slump, which is making it worse. He was just as cold early in the season as well when Markeith was healthy. As he matures, he'll realize that not trying to do so much in these scenarios will actually help his game. It's just horrible timing for a cold streak.

"In Lundy We Trust" is as appropriate a motto now as at any other time this season.

We've now given up 40+ in 6 of the last 9 halves of basketball. 50+ in two of those. We've been outshot beyond the arc in all of these games except the Detroit game, where we shot 46% while Detroit shot 40% - or we may have lost that game. Clearly Markeith is what we are missing and you seem to think even having him out there and not being 100% effective won’t help. You are putting words in my mouth. Markeith is not what we are missing. The team was trending negatively before he went down. We were saved by a couple second half turnarounds before we lost to NCAA power Green Bay. At home. Green Bay! And Markeith was healthy! There's a big difference between being realistic and being negative. Cactus was being realistic IMO. Having sprained both my ankles so many times and severely enough that my ortho finally said, "next time you do this, we're going to have to do surgery", along with tearing my ACL, it's never quick to return to 100% in physical sports. It's as much physical and getting rid of the rust as it is psychological. For a player such as Markeith, whose athleticism is a HUGE part of why he's the player he is, it's likely going to be a while until he's the Markeith we've known. Lock down defenders fight through screens, stop on a dime to not get burned by crossovers, etc. Markeith is fantastic at driving and creating his own shot (at least in man-to-man) That's all hell on a tender ankle. Nobody is saying he should come back at less than 100% health. It was about effectiveness. I too have sprained my ankle badly enough to almost break it and was sidelined a few weeks. It’s different for D1 athletes and how they use their ankles clearly.. don’t need the condescending words. I’m college educated just as you are.

Oh, he has definitely exceeded expectations this year, but it seems like every other team in the conference has at least kinda figured this team out in the second time around. There’s a lot more zone defense, a lot more open 3s, etc. Believe me, I’m more optimistic with him as coach than I’ve been since the last time we made the tournament, I suppose. But he hasn’t adjusted well the last few weeks, and I’m disappointed in that. Outside of Oakland (who was playing with a 6 man rotation the second time around), the Panthers haven’t played an opponent better the second time around this season. Part of that is Markeith, but I attribute some of that to coaching too. And it’s at least a little concerning.

We still are only one decent run from being right back in this thing. We’ve had plenty of comeback wins this year. What’s one more?

Now back to the game....
It's not like we haven't come back from a deficit like this before.

This is exactly the point at which B.J. needs to realize that he's a cog in the machine and not the entire machine.

The way the board is going seems like we are back in the PBS era, though Expectations have been raised. A performance like this last year was 100% expected (especially in February). A performance like this isn’t too expected this year, and will be tolerated less.
