Alright, somebody has to do it, and since I don't believe in jinxes - just the law of averages - it might as well be me lol. We're now officially into the back half of the conference slate after an 8-2 start, and an emphatic domination of then fellow 1st placer YSU in Panther Arena on Saturday night. Therefore, at 14-6 (NET: 160), this week Milwaukee has officially entered most bracketologists bracket sheets as a 15 seed, including a 14 seed today on Jerry Palm's CBS bracket. bracketmatrix.com/It looks like we have a realistic ceiling of a 13 seed if we can go 8-2 (or better) to close the HL regular season, and win the HL tourney (3 wins) to enter the big dance at 25-8 (or better). I'd guesstimate a NET rating in the 80's or 90's with a 25-8 record, and possibly 70's if going better than 8-2. All very doable IMO, since we've started 8-2. THIS ALL STARTS TOMORROW, WITH REVENGE AGAINST WRIGHT STATE, AND THEN TAKING SOLE POSESSION OF 1st PLACE ON SATURDAY FROM NKU. Now with that said... holy flippin' cow, I can't believe we're already having serious conversations about an NCAA tournament 13 seed in Lundy's very 1st year. Man I so hope this team stays focused and keeps playing just like Coach has taught them to. If they do, I really think the sky is the limit for them. They are arguably the most athletic AND most well coached Panthers team we've EVER HAD in our history - and that's *really* saying something. They're just so damn much fun to watch. Like, I can't believe we're averaging like 3 dunks and 6 blocks a game! Anyways, if you haven't been to the Arena yet to see them in person - which is understandable after decades of being disappointed (or feeling jilted by successful coaches leaving decades ago), do yourself a GIANT favor and get tickets for these last 5 regular season home games so you can enjoy some history!

We're only averaging three dunks and six blocks per game? Seems like more.

I swear that Big Mo alone had three monster jams on Saturday night!

#16 Seed on Lunardi's latest bracketology.
I'm sure we'd be looking at a #15 or #16 no matter how things play out but I'm hoping there is a way we could get up to a #14 if we were to go something like 6-1 the rest of the way and then win 3 in the conference tournament. That would put us at 25-8. If some other one bid leagues had the regular season champion get knocked out in their conference tournament maybe we could get bumped up.

That's the thing about bracketology. It assumes all of the teams on top of their respective conferences today will qualify for the dance. In reality, some lower seeds will likely get in. The best thing is just play it out and see what happens.

Yep, with just the normal amount of upsets in the other low-major conferences knocking their 13, 14, or 15 seed out (and replacing it with a with a 16 seed representative that has a worse NET than ours), that's good for moving a team in our position up about one seed line most years.
But now that we lost to #200-ish WSU, I think we'll need to come close to winning out to have a chance at a 14 seed.

Well, there goes that. Fun while it lasted. Yeah, it's time to put this chatter to bed for the rest of the year or at least until March 11.
