Packers twitter is all over the place on the topic of how much of this season's offensive struggles are ARod's fault. Some argue his ego prevents him from sticking to the obvious recipe for success of running as much if not more than passing; others say it's LaFleur's fault as he calls the plays. Some say the problem is ARod doesn't have receivers to throw to since Adams left. Some say ARod isn't as accurate as he used to be, even allowing for his injured thumb. Thoughts, anyone? Opinions? Wild guesses? Its a mix, I think. Lafleur has been exposed this season as being overrated, the lofty records of his first 3 years a product of great QB play covering up for bad (at best) D and mediocre specials teams , as far as punt returns go. I suspect Rodgers thumb is broken and his playing with it has affected his timing and accuracy. The WR core is young, and frankly just not that good. they just don;t get separation from defenders and havent grasped onto Rodgers tendencies, ie backshoulder throws, coming back to the ball on scramble, etc. the D hasnt forced that many turnovers and hasnt made the stops it did in crunch time last year which allowed for so many narrow escapes . they;ve been pathetic at times, see their performance against the Titans , where they couldnt get off the field and the Titans run short play after short play after short play, up and down the field.

There's an APB out for the Green Bay defense. It's five minutes after the game. Does Joe Barry STILL have a job?!

they should park Aaron for the rest of the year. see what Love has to offer and let Aaron heal from his injuries. the terms of AAron's contract make it nigh impossible to trade him and his play this year was pedestrian by his lofty standards anyway. Have him back for year 19 next year, but require he spend time in the offseason with the receivers , getting the timing down and develop chemistry. play in the preseason, even if its only a quarter per game so that the first few regular season games arent de facto preseason games.

Packewrs lead 10-6 at half. Rodgers is on the cusp of passing favre on the all time sack list, he has 524 sacks, Brett was sacked 525 times. according to pro Football reference, the record is held by Fran Tarkenton, who was sacked 572 times in his career, although sacks were not officially counted until 1969 and Tarkenton started his career in 1961.

packers do what they have to do, to make this week relevant. if they win out and finish 9-8 they will most likely make the playoffs. of course, beating the Vikings, who are clearly better than they are this year, is a tall ask. on the other hand, the vikings will likely have their seeding wrapped up by next week- they cant catch the Eagles, and they cant drop below the 3rd seed.

packers chances of making the playoffs have risen to 37%. if the Packers and Lions win this week and Washington losses, then Washington is out of playoff contention, and it sets up a de facto play-in game next Sunday in Green Bay. Its even possible that the Packers could end up as the 6 seed, if Washington and the Giants both lose their last 2 and the Packers win out.

The dominos continue to fall for the Pack. If they beat the Lions next week they are in the playoffs.

packers kick the vikes arse, and set up a play in game next week. this was easily the best the D has played all year, and if they play like this next week, they'll get in the tournament.

so its simple. win next week, they're in. lose, and they're out. tie, and they are also out, because they would lose the tiebreaker with the Lions who won the first meeting.

Just a very sad and trying night tonight for the NFL and the football world in general. Let's hope & pray Hamlin will be okay.
Also, Ryan Clark is the hero we deserve tonight in sports media...and I hope the sports media kicks Skip out and blackball him forever. A complete POS, and a heartless, insensitive sub-human being.
