Would not lead with that aspect especially if they have kids. Crime is out of control...I would have second thoughts moving here. I have lived here my whole life, love Milwaukee and it breakss my heart butI am thinking of moving out for that reason. If I do not reup my season tickets it will be for not wating to park my car and walk alone at night to and from arena......

Didn't Baldwin live in Sussex? Jeter didn't live in Milwaukee either, I believe. The coach can come to campus, do his job and head back to the 'burbs. But as a lifetime 414 resident too, the city can't be the major selling point. But it's the same struggle for Marquette, Temple, DePaul, etc.

These guys live up in the north shore. Kids would end up at schools like Sussex, and Homestead.
They wouldnt be living in the city, sending their kids to MPS.
HA.
For reference. I've lived my whole life in Milwaukee, now adjacent (West Allis), went to MPS (Riverside HS)
I wont send my kids to MPS even if I lived next to a school.

They love Bruce Pearl to this day because of what he did for this program. It's why so many people want a successful head coach. Bruce Pearl was 231-46 in nine years at Southern Indiana, with one national title, one runner-up, and four Sweet 16's. Pearl took over a successful program and had his two best years in his first three of nine. Ben McCollum is 328-83 in 13 years at Northwest Missouri State, with three national titles and three Sweet 16's. McCollum took over a floundering program and his only two losing seasons were his first two seasons, going to the tournament in year 3 and his first Sweet 16 in year 5, which also happens to be the last year his team won fewer than 25 games. And he's done it all while playing the game the way other fans, specifically some of Jeter's most ardent supporters, want the game to be played: without cheating. Bruce Weber isn't growing out his hair because of guys like Ben McCollum. Guys, this is simple: Ben McCollum has a far better resume than Bruce Pearl had in 2001, and he has done it without getting the reputation of a bandit. This is the way. |

McCollum would be a great get. He plays the kind of basketball that attracts fans. I don’t think there are many players on the current roster that fit his style. Maybe Devon Hanc***, Sinani, and possibly Newby can play it. That is no reason not to offer him. It is a reason for getting him. He and Shaka Smart are friends. The rivalry could be renewed. Get his wife to see the campus and The East Side. It is the only way. Get to his wife Amanda! Id be happy with just playing UW and MU again each year |
