I'm afraid that we're going to lose Todd. Know what I mean?

I would love nothing more than for Amanda Braun to slay all of us and make a home run hire. I completely agree with the concept.. I would take AB hiring a head coach who would quickly succeed at a high level (even greater than Dennis Gates has, for example) than a new AD (enter your favorite name here) who would hire what would turn out to be the next in a line of of big mistakes. For anyone who thinks differently, it could only be personal animosity toward AB.* *I could care less about the McCafferty (sp?) trophy and the non-revenue sports. I just want the basketball program to be highly successful. For those who care about the other sports, my comment does not necessarily apply.

We need a new coach who knows how to work the portal and can recruit, especially internationally. Sorry to say it but the upper midwest is not a hot bed for basketball talent.

I'm glad they fired him so that we wouldnt have to endure another 10-22 (or worse) season next year . I simply cant imagine the next guy being worse. Sure, its possible, just exceedingly unlikely.

My buddy said he thinks if he was the coach and just told them to go hoop they win the same amount of games, and I said if i was the coach id win 3 more because id play the guys who should be out there. The reality is PBS offered no style of play on either end and his coaching staff spent most of their time figuring out whose guarding who. Only way the next guy is worse is if things other then basketball coaching ability are taken into the hiring process.

This is a bad take, the league has plenty of Wisconsin products and plenty of talent every year goes to D1 programs. Not to mention Chicago being an hour away. We do need a coach that can bring in more talent however.

The upper midwest, is in fact, a hotbed of basketball talent. Your point on recruiting international players is valid though. We could learn from the WCC. The Bay Area is also a hotbed of talent, but teams like St Mary’s bring in players from all over to combine with the local talent. If we’ve learned anything from this past season, it’s that competent coaching is more important than having talent. First things first, let’s get a Ben McCollum or Lamont Paris , and then worry about recruiting internationally.

The coaching is a big problem, but this roster needs talent bad.
