Wisconsin’s Thursday opponent, Morgan State, has canceled because of a Covid outbreak, and Wisconsin is looking for a replacement. Why not take the check from UW and use whatever small fraction would pay off St. Xavier and the season ticket holders who had to pay for this game even though there was almost no chance they would go to it?
I mean, why not? The money would be useful and while, obviously, Wisconsin would administer a 2004-like smack down on us, it totally takes out of play the very real possibility of losing to a D2 team. Again. Win win!

That would be a great idea for any proactive athletic department, with an in-state game opening. I wonder how that feels.

Would rather not get embarrassed by the Badgers

You forgot the 2014 beatdown of 40 points but obviously you chose a Pearl team.

Of course, you forgot that 2014 Wisconsin team had the most efficient offense in the nation in the last 20 years.
Anyway, how about the game switch? Are you up for it? It would also give PBJ what might be his last national telecast opportunity.

Would rather not get embarrassed by the Badgers Me neither. But would REALLY rather not get embarrassed by a D2 team — again!

The 04-05 WI team made the elite 8 losing to the national champ in a hotly contested game. But whatever fits your narrative.
Of course I would take the game. No one wants to see a garbage team vs a garbage team.

My narrative is simply that a beat down like Bo gave to Pearl and our best team ever in 2004 (not to mention a big check and national TV) would still be a better result for us than losing to or even getting tested by St Xavier, whoever the hell they are.

Sure but it's no different than the 2014 beatdown except we lost by 40 at home which makes it worse.

It would be tough to give up the best opportunity for a win the rest of the year.

We aren't worried, are we? Is St. Xavier better than MSOE?

Everyone appreciates how much the Pearl deadendism finally got us to get rid of Jeter and get this program moving in the right direction again! 🤣 So anyway, let’s play Wisconsin on Thursday. It would be a great opportunity to see great players and coaching. And also, UWM.

LOVE the idea. Let's do it! Junk the garbage game! Contracts are made to be broken, right?!

I hate non-D1 games like everyone else but swapping it out for an $80k beat down two days before Christmas? Eh.
