When this program did the last, IMO notable thing. That was a nice memory indeed. Maybe a few notable additions are the Minnesota victory a few weeks later, the win against Loyola in Loyola's Final Four season, the Iowa State win, and beating Valparaiso in the conference semifinal during LaVall's year here. In any case, far and in between occurences. True. I would also add the amazing 24 point comeback in the last six and a half minutes against Wright State last March in a do or die game. I cannot prove this, but it may have gotten more airtime on Sportscenter than the win over Wisconsin.

It is ironic that when an AD finally had authority to say goodbye to Jeter, he produced a couple wins over B10 teams. It took ELEVEN years for those B10 wins! Since he left, it took SIX years for his next B10 win as a head coach. WooHoo! It is not good to have a head coach in a lame duck year unless an up and coming current assistant will succeed. We know that will not happen here. This is why I asked in another thread to elaborate on why you think the minimal documents produced through an open records search should assure us an extension has not been promised to PBS. Let's hope it has not. "It took SIX years for his next B10 win as a head coach. WooHoo!" is where you betrayed yourself. You're not an idiot, but you must expect us to be if we're supposed to look at that line and think "Oh yeah, it DID take him six years to get the next B1G win!" As if he had a ton of opportunities to get head coaching wins over B1G opponents in the four years he was an assistant coach. I mean, he totally COULD have gotten that Big Ten win in his first opportunity, but he didn't beat #3 Iowa in his first game at WIU. So he had to wait for his *checks notes* second opportunity to get that next B1G win. I guess we should all jerk it because Bruce Pearl beat a 7-21 Purdue team. If they were going to give Baldwin an extension, they'd have done it already. By not announcing it and only planning it, he'd be handcuffed in recruiting all year, forcing the program to basically lose a year of recruiting. If somehow it happens, the program is dead. But I don't think even the most cynical of us really thinks they're gonna do that.

I expected everyone on here to be smart enough to understand the implication I was making - that it took Saint Rob 5 years to get another head coaching job, and it was with a program much lower in stature than Milwaukee at the time of his hiring there. He was passed over for 200+ D1 openings between his head coaching jobs. No one else expressed strong interest until the folks in Macomb came calling. Six years between wins over a B10 team. It is is a simple fact. Nothing more, nothing less. I am sure he is a better coach now than ever. But jumpin' jiminy, we Panther fans had to endure 11 years of OTJ training at the expense of flaming out unprecedented momentum for him to achieve the early season success he is having this year.

That is why I inquired about the open records check. We'll leave it at that The scary part is this is UWM, where solid rationale does not always seem to apply and extensions have been made known long after execution. So if there was ever a fan base to be cynical...

Man, what a fun game to be at. Spirit and I purchased some nice Badgers season ticket holders tickets behind the basket and when we won....immediately drove back to the Black Rose to celebrate. Man, those were the days.

That game was a top 5 memory for me at the Kohl Center, and as a Badger fan too I have been there for a lot of spectacular wins, including several B10 champion clinching games and some great wins against MSU, not to mention some satisfying giggle thrashings.
We celebrated in the concourses with Akeem and others from the team and staff for a long time after that game.
Didn't see our AD there. Maybe she was in a box scowling about how RJ kept making it so hard to fire him.
Suffice to say we haven't had a win since that season that has been nearly as meaningful, and short of a win in the HLT championship game, we certainly won't get one this year.
