It makes total sense that Scott Warras would continue with play by play since he is a regular personality on Good Karma's WTMJ. It sure would be nice to have a quality analyst join him on the broadcasts.

Well, apparently that did not last long.
With ESPN 540 being sold and having already undergone a format change to Progressive Talk, my source tells me the games have been moved to 101.7 FM The Truth. Apparently that was the case already for the January 1 game against Wright State.
That's too bad. It is best to be on a sports talk station rather than a non-sports station. Oh well, at least games are still being aired on terrestrial in the local market.
Not surprisingly, there has not been a press release posted on MKEPanthers.com and the schedule on the website states the games as still being on a station that no longer exists, ESPN 540 AM. Perhaps nickpanther or maybe even Chris Zills can confirm further and shed more light on the subject.

Milwaukee Athletics has announced a new partner for the Educators Credit Union Milwaukee Panther Men's Basketball Radio Broadcast, starting Wednesday, January 5 at 7 p.m. when the Panthers take on Green Bay. Due to affiliate adjustments within the Good Karma Brands' network of stations, the Milwaukee men's basketball games will now be heard on 101.7 The Truth (FM). "We are excited to welcome Milwaukee Panthers Basketball to 101.7 The Truth," 101.7 The Truth General Manager Cherie Harris said. "We look forward to this partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This is a terrific addition to our lineup of local Milwaukee programming." Fans can listen to veteran broadcaster Scott Warras with the play-by-play call on 101.7 The Truth, and streaming live at goodkarmabrands.com/101-7-the-truth/.

Also, some have pointed out 1510am is also this station. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WGKBMaybe next year the Panthers can go go back to the Mixlr App. 1510 AM is a daytime-only station. The signal has almost as much geographical reach as WTMJ AM's, so at least Panther day games will be broadcast over a wide area. That frequency has a long and interesting history. It was the first exclusive sports talk station in the Milwaukee market, with the likes of a very obnoxious Scott Aebly in the morning drive time and syndicated Sports Babe mid days. Ratings were so low for this end-of-the dial new sports station at the time, that callers were mostly paid station personnel doing impersonations of made-up eccentric personalities. For us local auto race fans, it was the long time home of LTN Hour and Racing Roundup, which I am guessing are now Milwaukee's longest running radio programs as they are airing on another frequency. 1510 AM had a tiny studio next to it's transmitter behind what became a since-vacated Walmart in Waukesha. From Sunset Drive, it looked more like an outhouse than a radio studio. Not sure why there would be a desire for Panther play by play to go back to the Mixlr app. The current streams can be accessed in more ways now than when it was on that.

Who knew The Truth would have a twitter account. Well, they seem proud to carry the Panther games.
