I heard about this at the Panther Picnic, yet the station wasn't said at that time. I'm sure they got a good deal. Also, trying to work with ESPN3 on moving some games to Channel 24 and/or Bailey's Sports.

i actualy work for 540, so this is great news for me in a professional sense. Can you explain the difference between 540 AM and 94.5 FM. Marquette Basketball is on 94.5, as Milwaukee will now be on 540 AM. I see there is different lineups. Yet, is there another difference? ESPN MILWAUKEE LINEUP 94.5 ESPN (FM) Monday – Friday 5a - 7a: Keyshawn, JWill and Zubin 7a - 9a: Jen, Gabe and Chewy 9a - Noon: Wilde & Tausch Noon - 2p: Greeny, hosted by Mike Greenberg 2p - 4p: Homer & Tony 4p - 6p: Scalzo and Brust 540 ESPN (AM) Monday – Friday 5a – 9a: Keyshawn, JWill, and Zubin 9a – 11a: Greeny, hosted by Mike Greenberg 11a – 1p: Bart & Hahn 1p – 3p: The Max Kellerman Show 3p – 6p: Chiney and Golic Jr. 6p – 8p: Spain & Fitz 8p – Midnight: Freddie & Fitzsimmons

The reason for UWM being on one station is imo to prevent conflict with Marquette, we have their games on the station as well, and Homer has been the play by play voice for them for more than 20 years .

This is typical in many major markets. Here in Phoenix, three sister stations have very much the same arrangement as the Good Karma stations in Milwaukee. The ESPN affiliate on AM airs mostly national programming and some local play by play (Dbacks, Suns and Coyotes), the FM sports station airs mostly local sports talk and some play by play (Cardinals, Dbacks, Suns and Coyotes) and the third station has an established news/talk format much like WTMJ.

The landscapes of sports Milwaukee radio is different from 3 years ago. With 94.5/540 with different feeds. 97.3 The Game/ The Big 920 with different feeds. WSSP 1250AM. So, that is 5 sports stations.

Nick, what is typically on 101.1 FM? Is it simply a low-power simulcast of 540 AM to compensate for the latter's weak signal in Waukesha County? I remember when MU's games first switched to 540 AM. A lot of people in the western parts of the metro area complained about a weak signal there at night.
And is 1510 AM still airing anything? Who knew when it emerged in the early 1990's from a crackerbox-sized studio behind Wal-Mart off Hwy 164 as Milwaukee's first sports talk station that the market would evolve into what it is today?

From what I read online yes, it's to extend the reach into Waukesha. As for whether 1510 still airs anything, I don't know.

Good news. Some questions: 1) Multi-year deal or is this just for PBJ’s year? 2) Is the University/Department paying for carriage? 3) Who’s doing the play-by-play?
