Did he play last Saturday in the scrimmage versus NIU? PBJ did not play in the scrimmage on Saturday. Glad to hear he didn't play last week vs NIU. Also, if he did play wasn't to happy to hear they need a last second shot to win. Will he play on Saturday? I would say, yes.

Jordan PBJ Dre Simms and Joey to start let’s give it a try and see how this goes! giving a totally different look he might have something there the teams won’t expect that at all I like strategy let’s see how it plays out! On paper this is the best starting five + one of the six seasons since the reset. Tournament or bust.

100% agree. The program will never get a top 5 freshman in the country ever again. This is the biggest season since 2006 IMO.

I imagine a guy like Newby who hits 40+% on 3’s and 90+% free throw will be on the floor quite a bit. If teams try to double PBJ, we have guys who can hurt you on the perimeter. Personally, I will be disappointed if this team doesn’t make the sweet 16.

I'm going to miss the end of Big Noon Kickoff on Fox of #6 Michigan at #8 Michigan State. I better see PBJ play!

So it looks like the starting 5 is going to be this for UND (correct me if I’m wrong)
PG: Lathon SG: Dree Gholston SF: PBJ PF: Simms C: JSP
I understand the benefit of having size. That said, I hope to see our efficient shooters get a lot of playing time. JT took 60 less shots than Tejon last year, and made 4 more buckets. Newby shot 40% from 3 and 90% free throws. I would love to see a lot of 3 guard lineups with PBJ playing like a 4th guard and having one big on the inside. I know MSOE was an exhibition , but mid majors who are undersized and shoot well can seemingly create problems for us.
Something like this is the lineup I would go with. It still has plenty of size
Guard: Newby Guard: Lathon Guard: Dree Guard: PBJ Big: JSP
6th Man JT Then you have a number of bigs who can sub in and out.

Let this be said. If Dre doesn’t implode we beat Division III MSOE by double digits. And I find it hard nobody on this site sees the play of Jason Sinani as a producer. He played great defense. Struggled early with his shot but came around to hit some and drive to the bucket. I think he will get minutes as the year goes on. Liked Browning and his attack to the bucket. He is going to be a player. He needs to learn how to shoot but is a terrific athlete and appears to be willing to learn. We can’t expect one freshmen to solve everything. But I think we will be good and terrify opposing coaches with the talent on the floor.

Newby and Lathon both started last Saturday. If both are point guards, not sure the need to start both. Wouldn't mind seeing JT as a starter.

Why not just start the best player at each position?

That is a good idea. How about starting the best players. If I were coach my starting five would be Jordan at point, Newby at combo guard, Gholston Thomas, and Baldwin at forwards. Win the tap for heaven’s sake. Press and attack the hoop. Bring in St. Pierre and Simms after 5 minute break and set picks for Baldwin and Gholston. Let’s see if Baker can create down low with Kane off the bench. The pieces will fall into place if the best players set the tone. If Hanc***, Sinani, and Browning get comfortable give them minutes together.

My opinion, PBJ should be taking 15-20 shots per game. The best player should always have the ball especially with the talent gap between him and the rest of the league. I think that's the best path to success this season.
