Posting to re-open the discussion/hear some opinions on people's guesses for rotations this year. I really like our potential depth depending on how good some of these bench guys play.
PG: Newby (24 mpg) SG: Thomas (30 mpg) SF: Gholston (33 mpg) PF: PBJ (32 mpg) C: St. Pierre (22 mpg) Role Players 6: Lathon (24 MPG) 7: Simms (18 MPG) -------------------- 8: VBJ (12 MPG) 9: Kane/Bol (10 MPG) 10: Hanc*** (8 mpg) 11: Browning (8 mpg) -------------------- 12: Sinani 13: Ellingson
I didn't add these up to exactly 200 minutes, this is just about what I think they might average over the course of the year (considering changes such as rotations and injuries).
Personally, I think Joey will be our guy at Center. He seems to be best fit to play the toughest of any of the other centers, but I guess we will see if that is the case once we get to check out the team in game. As for Kane and Bol, it's really tough to say who gets playing time (again until we see them play live). I put 10 mpg because I think one way or another, either 1 or both of those guys will make up roughly 10 minutes per game in minutes off the bench.
At PG, I think they will give Newby the nod at starter considering he played here last year, plus I think having a veteran in Lathon off the bench will help our 2nd unit a lot.
Markeith Browning and Vin Baker are both interesting. They almost seem like wild cards. I've had high hopes for VBJ, but considering he hasn't played in a game in 2 years, I could see him slipping out of the rotation (if he isn't performing/grabbing rebounds) in exchange for the smaller Browning who is super athletic. I'm excited to see how both of these guys look.
Let me know what you guys think. As I said, I like our depth. 2 solid players off the bench, and anywhere from 5-6 guys fighting for minutes towards the end of the bench.
Looking forward to the start of the season!

St. Pierre with 22 minutes per game? Is there something we don't know about.

Nothing personal, but this projection seems off. I agree on Sinani and Ellingson.

St. Pierre with 22 minutes per game? Is there something we don't know about. I based it off the fact that Amir Allen played nearly 20 minutes per game last year, and Joey has 2 inches and nearly 50 lbs on him. We need a physical presence, and if he can bring that, he will easily play 20 minutes a game. As I said, this is just my thought. There's a chance he doesn't play like I expect and therefore doesn't get minutes, however my instinct is that he'll be our main center

I meant to add him at the bottom, however I wouldn't be surprised to see him redshirt. He's stuck behind multiples guys that play the 2/3 (Thomas, Gholston, PBJ, Simms, VBJ). Gonna be hard for him to get minutes unless he really proves himself (I hope he does, don't get me wrong)! Again, this is why I really like our potential depth.

I truly no longer see any advantage to voluntarily redshirting anyone, especially at a mid-major program. They'll be gone before there's any lasting payoff.

Some of these guys will not play a lot of minutes this season. and some of these guys aren’t as good as advertised please believe me when I say this. Just wait until tomorrow you will see in the scrimmage who has it and who don’t!!!!!! The one who play tomorrow!

Is PBJ out of the boot yet? That's my only concern right now.
