Do we know that Patrick Baldwin Jr. is taking a scholarship? Perhaps he isn’t on scholarship this year, leaving an extra scholarship available. I agree, it’s a really crummy thing to do to kick a student athlete in good standing off scholarship. Crummy yes, but don't forget these scholarships are annual. No one is guaranteed a scholarship for next year.

Ah good catch. Then the Panthers are probably casting a wide net for the last scholarship.

Give the last one to Jamari and let's wrap this thing.

Give the last one to Jamari and let's wrap this thing. Keep an eye out for guard Trey Alexander, ranked 72 in the nation by 247. Decommit from Auburn. Creighton and Milwaukee just offered. I would think this kid has serious interest in Milwaukee. Otherwise seems like a waste of time offer.

I was under the impression that the NCAA's decision to extend eligibility another year meant that returning players on scholarship do not count against the limit. So PBJ's signing couldn't affect the returnees. Do we know that PHJ is not filling a scholarship opened by a player leaving?

Think about it like this, 'Heap: everyone gets a free year if they choose to take advantage of the exception, but the extra year is at the END of their careers. In essence, Newby remains a freshman, Brown is still a sophomore (albeit at another school), Gholston is still a junior, etc. They still occupy a scholarship, though. The only player who doesn't count toward the scholarship limit for next year is J.T. because his eligibility otherwise would have expired.

Officially official. Welcome back JT! Huge news for us.
And of course that means another year of TonyT! Speaking of which... haven’t heard from him in a while. Give us some optimism TT! You have to be excited for the squad we’re putting together right now.

Was at the Humboldt Park Picnic tonight and enjoyed it. Got my beer and sandwich, sat down with my friend, were welcomed by Jordan Lathon and Markieth Browning. They are amazing young men who expressed great things about The University, Milwaukee and Coach Baldwin. Jordan could not say enough about Patrick Jr. and what he will bring to the team. This is from a 4 Star recruit who has played with the best at the AAU level. Four members of the Women’s team joined us and they were equally amazing. I was proud to be in their presence. Great time and hopefully a great future for both teams.
