fort wayne is up on cleveland state at half. yes its 1 point, but boy did that miracle 3 change things. If the Panthers played Cleveland State the same way they’re playing Wright State tonight, they’d still probably be down double digits. |

He benefits quite a bit from having the player of the year next to him. There’s a reason UW-Parkside was one of his offers. There was obviously something missing from his game in high school. Kudos to the WSU staff for bringing out his potential. I can’t say our coaching staff would have done the same. |

This is just my observation , but it really seems like PBS goes after players ranked highly as opposed to actually recruiting for the right fit. I think Rob Jeter went through the same thing when he first started here by going after Torre Johnson and Tim Flowers. Pat Baldwin has gone after high major guys like TeJon Lucas, Harrison Henderson, and Vin Baker. Thing is that Jeter learned from his mistakes. Matt Tiby came here with little fanfare. So did Jordan Johnson. I remember the jokes on here when James Eayrs was signed. One would think Baldwin would have learned his lesson, but he did sign Jordan Lathon this offseason. I haven’t heard much about Baldwin going to high school games to actually watch the players play.
Of course former coaches missed out on local players, but losing out on Grant Basile when we have role players, some of who probably belong more as wing players, playing down low hurts a whole lot more than losing it on a Carrington Love when we had Steve McWhorter and Jordan Johnson.
