UIC's Redshirt junior Teyvion Kirk was recognized by College Sports Madness Monday (Dec. 21), as the outlet tabbed Kirk as the National High-Major Player of the Week.

Kirk had a career weekend in leading the Flames to a pair of wins over Oakland. In Sunday's finale, Kirk recorded the third triple-double in UIC history, and just the third across Division I basketball this season, with a career-high 22 points and 11 rebounds to go along with 11 assists. Kirk scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half and finished the game 10-of-17 from the field. The triple-double followed a double-double performance in UIC's first win over the Golden Grizzlies. In the series debut, Kirk scored 15 points and 11 assists to go along with eight rebounds for his second double-double of the year.

I watched the UIC-Oakland game 2x. Make no mistake, UIC is experienced and good.

UIC is a good team lead by Kirk, and with some quality bigs not usually seen at this level. I predict CJ will come up big for us this weekend. He’s been very efficient shooting for us. How about a pair of double doubles this weekend ?

We need to win at least one. UIC will likely be in the mix down the stretch.

NIU,WIU,ISU, SIUE don't play until the 2nd, EIU the 30th. I know it's more complicated and theres other factors besides both teams being free, but if that's just Illinois schools i'm sure we can find a game if we want to (we should). Going 11 days without playing after winning 3 straight would be quite unfortunate.
