Yeah, I know we lost a tough one to a tough, tough, fighty, fighty Vikings team tonight, but if we beat YSU on Saturday, win the HLT and then win the NCAA tournament, we can still have a winning record!
I mean, there's a chance, right?

we would need to beat YSU, and win the conference tourney that would get us to 17-17, and certainly put us into a play in game in Dayton. we would have to win that, then pull off a 16-1 upset like UMBC pulled a couple years ago. that would get up to 19 wins. unlikely, in the extreme.

Fellas, the whole "FIRE AMANDA BRAUN!" schtick is wore out.
Unless the Board of Regents comes in and blows up everything from Mone on down, which I would be a huge fan of, nothing is changing. THEY DON'T CARE.
Honestly, I spend a lot of time wishing I didn't, either. Quitting has never been in my DNA, unfortunately.

Lest anyone think for a moment that these are merely frustrated spur-of-the-moment rantings, consider that our average KenPom rating under Jeter was 163 (out of 353 teams)! Since he was terminated, it's 255! This is the END of YEAR FOUR, 128 games later. We were PROMISED much better! Do you remember the Golden Goals? I'm not saying that Jeter was the Wizard of Westwood, but THAT was certainly better than THIS! So here's where I'm leading: where's the accountability for the architects of this debacle, Braun and Mone. Instead of facing their day of reckoning, Mone was recently given a raise to $396,219 (was this all devised so that the chancellor could make more than the basketball coach, as Baldwin makes "only" $362,150?) and Braun was extended for three years! What should we reasonably expect in YEAR FIVE? 15 wins?! Which leads to another question: when will be the next time that we even have a CHANCE to go to a third-tier tournament?!

Amazing what some people can get away with while the rest of us have to suffer while trying to do the right thing."

On the one hand we didn't lose 11 straight games this year like we did last year. On the other hand, we have consistently found new ways to blow leads and thus lose games that we not only should win, but win by decent margins. Take the Detroit debacle- losing after being up 16 is completely unacceptable. Given our record, our season will be over once we lose in the conference tournament. At this point, does anyone here think we can make a run?

Dear God, when you're reduced to saying "well at least we haven't lost 11 straight again" it tells you how utterly pathetic this program has become. Listen, I have nothing personal against PBS. I hear he's a good guy. I also hear that Don Morton, Bob Dukiet and Ric Cobb were good guys. Guess what else they had in common. There is literally no reason that he should be retained at this point other than that our AD can't admit what an abject, predictable disaster her "plan" for men's basketball has turned out to be. The problem is significantly deeper than Braun. What has happened in the Braun era has only been a continuation of an ongoing series of mis-managed fiascos by incompetents hired through a dysfunctional, bureaucratic system influenced by politically motivated, impractical, sports-apathetic power brokers. Like you, SoB, my interest in the program remains strong. Let's go Panthers against YSU tomorrow! Jump in! There is plenty of room in the VW Bug for all of us!
