Really hoping that today will be "Tacko Sunday!"

Iowa was down 25 at one point and are now down 1 at the under 4 TO. B1G is having a pretty good showing in the tourney minus the Badgers and the Gophers stinker last night.

UCF loses a heart-breaker to Duke as a game-winning shot rims in and then out in the final seconds.

I have not watched as much of the tournament as I would have liked and never got to see Ja Morant play. But my favorite part was watching Tacko Fall play. I was heartbroken when UCF's rebound putback rimmed out. My most revealing aspect is how the Big East has fallen. They now seem like the WCC or A10 but with a much better TV contract.
What has your favorite moment of this tournament been? What has been your most revealing aspect?

Sweet 16 is now set. Oregon is the only surviving double digit seed.

One year removed from a national title and having two #1 seeds. The Big East did have 9/10 in the NCAA/NIT. While, yes the NCAA Tourney was bad. Still, as a hole solid for a down year. Leagues go in cycles, just look at the Big Ten last year to this season.

Every Power 5 conference is represented in the 16. The only two outliers are Houston, from the 6th rated American conference, and Gonzaga, from the 8th rated West Coast. And neither of those programs can credibly be described as a "mid-major" inasmuch as they both have Final Four histories. Mid-major programs and conferences are as far as they have ever been from competing at a high level in the tournament. Low major programs aren't even really playing the same game. It may be time to start thinking about creating an equivalent "FCS" division in basketball for the bottom 20 leagues. It would set off more realignment as those programs with honest aspirations for the top (and also some credibility in that respect) would do their best to move up, while some schools in upper leagues might decide to recognize reality and move down. Or maybe you could have both NCAA "A" Tournament and "B" tournament teams in the same conferences, although that would be difficult for a lot of reasons.
Would we lose the occasional upset by a 14-16 seed in the first round? Yes. And the inevitable pounding they take in round 2. By round 3, it's just the big boys. For better or worse -- but that's the reality in today's landscape.

One year removed from a national title and having two #1 seeds. Maybe. Villanova remains a power, as does Gonzaga in the WCC. Time will tell if this year marks a trend for the conference or was an aberration.

While, yes the NCAA Tourney was bad. Still, as a hole solid for a down year. The Big East has not been very good in the NIT this year either. 2-3 in the first round. The wins were at home over lower ceded mid-majors. Only one of the first round winners won in the second round, again at home. And then there is DePaul, which opted to play in the CBI. I like watching the Big East. The recognition and respect was there this season, as reflected in the invites. The results were not. With the TV contract effective through 2025, the conference should be OK for at least a few more years. After that, it will be interesting to see what happens to this non-football conference and it's member schools.

When it appears as if the likes of UCF or Wofford MIGHT spring the extremely rare surprise, their hopes are stifled by a few critical calls! I've been calling for a "B" Tournament for years!!! Face it: only five or six (or MAYBE seven) conferences matter.

No one is going to watch a B tournament. The allure of the NCAA tournament is the small guy getting to play the big guy in a one and done. With a B tournament, there is no George Mason, Butler, VCU or Loyola. Nor would there be the Bryce Drew and Ali Farokmanesh shots. I love mid major basketball, but I'm pretty intrigued by every single match up this Thursday and Friday.

If there's no change, we should ALL get ready for exactly what happened this weekend for the foreseeable future. You can kiss the mid-majors goodbye! The runs by Butler and VCU were nearly a decade ago!
