Adversity of the past few days can either further break or strengthen a team. Let's see which way the Panthers go.
I'd like to see us get into the HL tournament this year. It's must-see TV!

I'd like to see us get into the HL tournament this year. It's must-see TV! Side note, Jon LeCrone can kiss my ass for dropping the 9 and 10 seeds from the HLT. He's the Chairman Mao of the Horizon League. Always pushing 'constant revolution.' And, you know, if a Great Leap Forward accidentally stomps on the progress of a couple programs, so be it.

Why not just hold games between the 7-10 and 8-9 teams at campus sites on Monday and have them advance to the quarterfinals at campus sites on Wednesday or Thursday?

Oakland who lost all 5 starters from last year, averages 77.5 ppg. Fifth in the NCAA with its 42.2 percent shooting from distance. Seventh in 3's made per game (10.8) and 12th in assists per game as a team.
Xavier Hill-Mais leads the way for the offense at 22.1 ppg and adds 6.2 rebounds. Jaevin Cumberland, 17.0 points.

I am also disappointed that the bottom two finishers will not participate in the HL tournament. The more do or die games the better, especially between familiar teams. However, I can understand the rationale from the HL's standpoint. Pre-Motor City Madness history has shown attendance at first round games hosted at middle seeds is lower than most regular season games. Attendance for regular season games at venues like UWM, CSU, YSU, UDM and UIC is dismal these days. Tickets sold at the 7-10 and 8-9 games, which would likely be played at the facilities of two of these schools, would probably be under 1,000 combined. The programs and/or conference would lose money because of expenses for arena rental, staff, streaming productions, etc. I am sure they have already taken a financial bath at some of the past middle seed games. It is easy for we fans to spend the money of others. For the schools though, exclusion of the 9 and 10 seeds makes good business sense. Fans of those programs are usually quite down-trodden and exhausted by the time the regular season ends. I doubt there will be any short, mid or long-term damage from a business standpoint to those programs not participating, or to the conference. As for LeCrone, keep in mind he is a puppet for the schools that make up the conference. At least some of the anger directed toward him could easily be redirected toward the institutions collectively. One final note about conference comissioners. At the GCU game last Saturday, it was announced that the WAC commissioner was in the sellout crowd (yes, a sellout even though the 3,000+ "Havoc" students who usually attend the games were on break, but I digress). He was shown on the big screen. The crowd gave a very warm and welcoming applause. The same thing happens every time GCU President Brian Mueller is introduced. I am well aware of the great differences in programs (public vs private, bad past history vs no past history, etc.), but when something like this happens I cannot help but think how vastly different the fan attitude is between GCU and UWM, and probably GCU and any HL fan base. Could you imagine LeCrone or Mone getting a warm and welcoming applause at a Panther game (insert joke about no one there to applaud here, but again I digress)?

Oakland's uniforms are almost as bad as when their announce says "of course" after every 3.

Well whatever Baldwin said to them worked, the boys came to play today. If we didn't have a bunch of dumb fouls we'd have a lot larger lead.
