Putting aside where he'll be playing next year, will he be playing tomorrow? PBS said he was getting checked out on Monday but I haven't seen anything about his status for UIC.

PBJ is pretty much the same as the Michael Porter Jr. Situation. Questionable choice of college w a season that didnt go to plan due to injuries and other things. MPJ was still late lotto/mid first. Just signed a huge extension and now having back problems again.

bleacherreport.com/articles/2953489-2022-nba-draft-big-board-updated-top-50-prospects18. Patrick Baldwin Jr. (Milwaukee, PF, Freshman) Some scouts questioned if Baldwin would bother returning from an ankle injury in January. There was some speculation he'd shut it down to prepare for the draft. But he came back last week to shoot 9-of-34 during a three-game stretch before exiting the lineup again, this time for undisclosed reasons. It's safe to say his decision to play for his father at Milwaukee hasn't worked out well, with the 6'9" "shot-maker" shooting just 34.4 percent and 26.6 percent from three. We've seen teams ignore freshman stats for high-school scouting and eye-test results before, like when the Memphis Grizzlies took Ziaire Williams at No. 10 last season. Baldwin has obvious questions tied to his inefficiency, lack of explosion and jumper-heavy shot selection. But over the years, there is enough evidence suggesting Baldwin is a far better shooter than what he's shown. And though not the most athletic, he hasn't had trouble creating separation around the perimeter.

I truly wish both Jr and Sr the best at their next endeavors. Cant say the same for AB although sadly she probably wont be going anywhere with Mone as Chancellor

Today on nbadraftroom.com, I see that PBJ has fallen out of the Top 20 for the first time (No. 28). So to say that he's fallen precipitously is accurate, as before the season I saw him projected to go as high as No. 5.

From The Athletic's latest mock draft:
17. Minnesota Timberwolves Patrick Baldwin Jr. | 6-9 forward | 19 years old | Milwaukee
Forgive me for being a broken record, but this is another pure wild card. Patrick Baldwin Jr. is all over the map when you talk to scouts. Some are willing to entirely overlook what has been an unmitigated disaster of a freshman season at Milwaukee and taking him around the end of the lottery. Others are not. Right now, Baldwin is averaging 12 points and six rebounds while shooting 34 percent from the field and 26 percent from 3 in the Horizon League. That is bad. But a lot of it can be chalked up to circumstance, if you want to make that case. He’s a non-shot creator who ends up having to do too much on offense far too regularly. He’d be much better off at a place like Duke where he could have shots created for him and could use those pristine shooting mechanics to hit open looks. Indeed, it’s not an exaggeration to say he has not gotten many clean opportunities this season. Per Synergy, Baldwin has taken just seven uncontested 3-pointers this season in 11 games, an impossibly low number that exemplifies how disastrous the team’s guards have been. The team has a bottom-20 offense in the country, a number that is bad for a mid-major team with a five-star, McDonald’s All-American forward who should theoretically be able to shoot the lights out. Scouts also have been unimpressed with his overall effort level. It’s not an exaggeration to say Baldwin would have one of the worst profiles in terms of production for competition level of any player selected in the first round in the last decade. But there are plenty of scouts who are still interested and see the same guy who was a consensus top-five recruit in the country. I’ll be completely honest: I have no idea what direction this will go.

Fell to 25 on espn+ latest mock draft.
Patrick Baldwin Jr. | 6-10 | SF/PF | Age: 19.2 | Milwaukee | No. 25 in Mock Draft Previous Mock: No. 15
The last time we checked in on Baldwin in late December, he was coming off a challenging stretch of nonconference action, with poor showings against Florida, Colorado and Rhode Island, the best teams Milwaukee will face this season. Since then, things have gone from bad to worse, as he has missed significant time with a troublesome ankle injury and COVID-19, while continuing to struggle in Horizon League action, shooting just 28% from the field with more than twice as many turnovers as assists since the start of the calendar year.
NBA teams privately sound extremely concerned about Baldwin's left ankle, which caused him to miss most of his high school senior year and is clearly not 100% based on the amount of time he has missed and the fact that he has been essentially day to day for the past two months. Baldwin has one last chance to salvage his season when the Horizon League championship starts at the beginning of March, if he even is able to suit up. Milwaukee will need to win four games to make the NCAA tournament, a tall task to say the least, but scouts will want to see if Baldwin can at least show more urgency than the extreme level of apathy he has mostly displayed thus far.

Would the Bucks take him if he were to be available? You have to be more than a shooter to play for Coach Bud...

Something tells me that PBJ's next act, whether it's the pros or college, will not be in Milwaukee. And that's probably a very good thing for him.
