First time poster, one year stalker of the board, two year alum..... - I usually attend 6 to 8 UWM games a year.
I'm tired of the speculation...
"Illness" has been the reason he has missed the last four or so games. But he's on the bench in street clothes as an active supporter of his teammates. With the loss of Haas tonight, he would have been crucial off the bench. What's going on, is it just academics? If he was transferring, why spend time with the team?

Don't know, but he was the subject of tonight's "Get To Know Your Panther."

You looked to be correct. Jeremy Johnson was on the bench on Saturday.

Talked to him briefly Saturday night. Says he's good. That said, Nze and Haas were sitting there too, so even he wanted to be completely candid it wouldn't be the best place. But he didn't look like someone who was looking for the door, which is something I had heard in the last week from outside the Panther bubble.

What exactly do you guys think Jeremy has? This is a most peculiar illness.

He was in for the garbage time minute at the end of the GB game. (last one off the bench to be put in, mind you)

Back in the day I would often hear about a young athlete being shut down for several weeks because of mononucleosis ("mono"). I do not hear much about mono anymore. Perhaps this is because of HIPPA privacy requirements.
I have no idea what illness Jeremy may have, but mono is my guess based on how this has been handled thus far. Hopefully for Jeremy's sake it is nothing more serious than that.

Perhaps this is because of HIPPA privacy requirements. HIPPA is probably a good guess, but since Jeremy Johnson is a student, there are also educational privacy rights in play. Height and weight of an athlete are generally releaseable as “Directory Information,” but little beyond beyond that can be released without the student’s permission, and students have the right to restrict even “Directory Information.” A student’s medical records absolutely can’t be released without permission from the student.

Several people sitting near me thought Jeremy looked visibly thinner on Friday. I couldn't tell but that's an observation from others.

At the end of the day I think we all want to know whats going on, but we also, all have respect for privacy and if he's sick, from whatever it may be, I think we all wish a speedy recovery.
We know he's a good kid and a good player on this team and he's missed.
