"The Jungle" is on campus and is still there. I believe the women's b-ball team plays their home games there. I believe it seats around 2,500. Kind of looks like a typical, mid-sized IN high school gym. The good thing is that is is right on campus. The bad thing is that it is pretty small. The Indiana Farmers Coliseum - as a lot of people may know - is at the Indiana State Fairgrounds near 38th Street and College Avenue. This is about 5 miles NE of the downtown campus. It is a nice, renovated facility, originally built in the 1930's, which gives it a classic, old time arena look. It seats about 6,500 for basketball - which is a great size for a mid-major basketball team. The team hasn't been seeing big crowds - but winning could help with that. I'm thinking there will be a good sized crowd for the Ball State game this Saturday. May be about half and half IUPUI and BSU fans. If they could get 4000 fans in the place, it would be a decent crowd and look fairly full. If the team does well this season - they may be able to start getting several thousand - and maybe more there for games. The location is pretty good as far as nearness to a large number of people. The near north side has pretty good density and is near plenty of decent neighborhoods where folks may be interested in seeing a local college game. Ideally, a nice 7000 seat arena could be built on campus - bus there are no plans for that to happen in the near future. If crowds start filling up the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, it could become the new "Jungle" or "Jungle II". Could get plenty loud in there. It is the old arena where the ABA Pacers played back in the 60's and early 70's. It used to seat about 10,000 - but has been upgraded with more aisle space, leg room, better seating, etc. - which reduced the capacity. The Indy Fuel ECHL hockey team plays there also.

Ten point loss to Ball State. They stayed pretty close (within 4 - 5 points for much of the game), but couldn't do enough to catch up at the end. BSU had a kenpom ranking of about 110.

Big win for IUPUI on the road at Green Bay! Came down to the final minute. Jaguars played solid while the Phoenix couldn't hit their 3s down the stretch.

Wish I had been at the game tonight. From reviewing the game cast and box score - looked like a very nice solid win over top in the standings Northern Kentucky. Cam Justice was 5 / 7 from 3 point range. Great start to the second half of the Horizon League season!

Close home loss to UIC last Saturday. UIC won 76 - 75. UIC jumped out to a big first half lead - then IUPUI came all the way back to take the lead in the last minute. UIC hit a shot to retake the lead - then IUPUI missed a three point shot and a last second layup in the final seconds. IUPUI’s leading scorer and one of the best three point shooters in the League only scored 6 points and was 0 for 7 on three point shots. He broke his nose in a game the previous week and had to wear a face mask which seemed to cause him lots of issues. Hanging tough in the middle of the League standings with 6 games to go. Hoping for a top four finish to be able to host the first round tourney game.

Jags lose their 4th game in a row. After a fairly close single digit loss to Wright State two weeks ago, IUPUI has lost the last three by 2, 1, and 3 points. This loss to Cleveland State leaves them in 8th place in the league. Milwaukee’s loss tonight keeps them (Milwaukee) two games back of the Jags heading into the last four games of the regular season. The game against Milwaukee on 2/22 could be pretty critical in deciding the final standings - and who makes it into the HL tournament.

My buddy, a current season-ticket holder and dedicated fan, said this: "Last one in the Horizon turn out the lights!"
