I would just like to let every one know that the club football team here at UWM now has a student org. web page that can be found at www.uwm.edu/StudentOrg/MPF. this page will be updated regularly. it currently has our spring practice schedule on it, it also has a recruitment form on it if you are a student and are interested. I would also like to take this time to send condolences to the Va.Tech campus from the football club.

The UWM Post will be expanding its coverage of the football team this upcoming season.
Aims of expanded coverage:
1. Hopefully, this will put a little extra pressure on the administration to attempt to explore possibilities of bringing back NCAA football to UWM.
2. Simply putting recaps of the games will not be enough for the Post. We will be covering the first spring practice on the 24th for a feature article, and updates will be on the blog during the summer. When school begins, we will preview and review every game, as well as have a season preview, a season-in-review, interviews with coaches and players, and features.
3. If this conference in the works comes to fruition, the Post will be in contact with all the league's teams, setting up some kind of web page to keep tabs on the conference leaders, standings, as well as possible articles regarding other conference teams. This way, we can increase traffic to the Post's blog by catching the eye of players, coaches, and fans of all the teams. No other paper is planning to do this, I believe.
4. Possibly broadcasting games over the radio. I know, I mean the internet website that the broadcasting club has, but streaming this will be pretty cool, especially for people at the other schools who hope to listen to the games if they can't attend.
5. Increase awareness of the football team to the student body. If we commit this amount of coverage to the football team, maybe, just maybe, students will start going to the games. If enough show interest, there may be some real pressure on the administration.
If you noticed on that website that I'm on the roster, I'm not playing. I expressed interest in coaching. The reason I'm not playing is because I was in a car accident in 2003, and the doctors said that since I broke my leg and messed up my hip, which will eventually be a bum hip. After the first football meeting this spring, which I covered for the Post, I went back to the doctors, since 4 years might make a difference. Nope. Hard contact sports are still of limits. Basketball is still OK, they said, so I am still able to lead us to a national championship next season.
