Oddly enough, in 2014 we beat Detroit in round one and Valparaiso in round two.
I'm not saying anything but we played Green Bay in the semifinals that year...

And could play wright state in the championship. And then could play Villanova in the tourney (but will probably have to win in Dayton first)

After reading their message board I'm pretty sure the entire Valpo fan base is ready to jump off a bridge.

can you blame them? their team just scored 12 freaking points in an entire half, and scored 41 points in a whole game, against a team that won 8 games THE ENTIRE SEASON. this was a huge choke by Valpo. Now they only have the NIT to look forward to.

We win the tourney, we'll be in a 16 playin, they usually put the worst record qualifiers in a playin round. also at 12-23, it would be the most losses by any team in history to make the dance- the current record is 21. in 2014 we were a 5 seed, but had a strong team. and we had a guy who just took over against GB in the semis willing us to an OT win. This would be a - How The hell did THAT happen' sort of run.

All I gotta say is... DAMN IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A MILWAUKEE PANTHER FAN! This rookie coach is amazing, these young players are developing FAST, and the future has never been brighter for this program. And holy frick, it's only been 11 months since Coach Val was hired! Is this really the 349th least experienced team in Division I ?!?!? I'm seriously about to call in sick to work on Monday to take an impromptu road trip to Detroit!

In case anyone is interested, here is the before and after RPI's from Saturday's HL day 1 quarterfinal action. Both co-champs (#1 Oakland & #2 Valpo) go down to the 9 & 10 seeds! (Click on each individual pic to see all 10 teams) m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10104159450644628&id=26704561Btw, the silence has been deafening from the rabid Amanda-hating, Milwaukee Jeter/5th Placer fans. Such a great bonus! I expect this is just a preview of the years of silence to come from them. Or at least from the ones who don't decide to come back to being MKE Panther fans

After watching Valpo's post game interview Matt Lottich is my most hated coach in the Horizon league. Basically saying not enough practice time in the arena and then says his team doesn't make excuses. They'll be getting an earful when they visit MKE next year once they show their ticket stub to prove they are in the right seats.. Anyone who has watched Milwaukee play all year would have thought we'd give up the lead in the last few minutes but we've already grown up from the regular season.

Apparently the 1st half record for the lowest score is 6-2 in 1997 between Rice/USF. I guess this game was the NBA All Star Game in comparison.
Per ESPN:
I don't blame Valpo fans for being upset. This season was a failure. We'd be thinking the same thing had everyone stayed.

Valpo dropped 15 (to 77) and Oakland dropped 17 (from 101 to 118) . We're currently at 265, which is a 16 line, obviously, we'd be the lowest rank in the field, even with 2 more wins.

Panthers leading in both games, caused them to control the pace of play.

“I am extremely proud of our guys,” UWM coach LaVall Jordan said. “The resiliency, the character of this group — others have gotten to see it this weekend. Every day this group shows up, in spite of the record, and they are just hungry to learn, want to get better and work like crazy.”
