Brock Stull, taking just his third shot of the night, hit a jumper at the buzzer to give Milwaukee a 63-62 win over Cleveland State on Friday night.
The Panthers, after trailing by 12 early in the second half, took the lead 56-54 on a Jeremy Johnson's 3-pointer with four minutes left, finishing a 7-0 run. The Vikings went back on top 62-61 lead with 11.9 seconds remaining on a driving layup by Kasheem Thomas, completing a 6-0 spurt. The Panthers didn't call timeout and Stull hit the game-winner from about 15 feet.
Jeremy Johnson made three 3-pointers and scored 17 points and Bryce Nze added 13 for the Panthers (6-14, 2-5).

Jordan is a phenomenal coach and Stull is an all-conference player. The Panthers will win the league in the next three years.

Something new with Brett P. and Nze on the floor at the sametime. As long as Nze keeps playing smart and not picking up as many dumb fouls as he use to, I like this lineup. Actually does give us a height advantage on most teams. Plus they have both really picked up their play recently.

Fun game. Impressed with Nze. He's very active. Definitely a player to build around.
Great fight in the second half by the Panthers. THey looked rattled and slow in the first half.
I'll be back for more!

"Our basketball team is growing every day – proud of them," Milwaukee head coach LaVall Jordan said. "We talked a lot and had some serious discussions about our attitude and mentality, things we need to establish. The first half was not the best version of us. We talked about that at halftime. Just proud of that decision they made – to just move on, forget about what had happened and focus on the next 20 minutes."
"It was something special. It feels good," Stull said. "After feeling like I let my team down the first half, having the trust of the guys in that situation boosts my confidence up and feels good."

These players and coaches need their support at the arena. They are a great bunch of kids and are giving it all. Isn't that the Milwaukee way?

A frustrating first half but they really turned it around in the second. Crazy how Stull had only 3 FG attempts last night.

Totally agree. This is a young team that was going to have a hard time competing no matter what. Even with their record, you can see the players on the bench cheering on the players on the court, helping them however they can. The team likely won't compete for a conference championship this year, but it seems to be a team where the players want the team to succeed, even if it might hurt their individual numbers. Look at Brock Stull in this game; one of the best players on the team and our leading scorer, and he only took 3 shots, making 2. Instead of taking a lot of bad shots and maybe making a few, he helped the team out by helping the team take higher percentage shots, getting 5 assists. As a relative outsider (I go to all the home games but know very little about the inner workings of the team), this team seems to support each other, and teams that support each other deserve support themselves, regardless of who the athletic director is. And given how new and young this team is, I feel like Lavall Jordan is doing a very good job so far. I know our record isn't great, but I was fearing a lot worse coming into this season.

What I like about our team is the vibe . Play with a lot of joy and heart. We have to take a little longer term view. This will play out well over time. Lavall Jordan projects an attitude this is free and not up-tight like the last 10 years.

Anyone who's being super negative about this season, just look at where UIC is this year vs last year. And we are miles ahead of where they were at this point last season.
