Braun said “logistics issues” postponed renewing the series for the upcoming season.
So, it sounded like it could have happened this year. For what I'm hearing it's sounds like it will happen with Marquette and not Wisconsin. Sounds like Greg Gard is being a baby because UWM fired Jeter. That's why Bucky is not playing Pounce in 2016.

Probably not a terrible thing for us that we don't play them this year. Would be excited to see this series renewed as long as the terms aren't too ridiculous.

Series was over anyways. Coaches were telling me two years ago that the then-current contract was probably it. Whether or not to play Marquette depends entirely on the series. Holic and others were right back in 2007, I was wrong. I wanted to play them so badly I was willing to swallow such a one-sided garbage contract. I'd start with a fight for a 1-for-1, then push for 1-for-1 plus a buy game, then settle for a 2-for-1. Anything worse than that and it's not worth it. Jordan's staff should be in charge of scheduling. You can't jettison the last staff and then pull the same bureaucratic bullsh*t on the next group. You'd be cutting Jordan off at the knees by taking scheduling out of his hands. Perhaps it's just the language - after all, Rich Kirchen is very friendly to AB - but it sounded as though she'd be running the scheduling. I don't like the idea of scheduling being run by someone who once suggested a road 2-for-1 with Eastern Michigan was a good idea. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using proboards

Not sure I would feel great about that but it would be nice to get them in our building from time to time. Was that Eastern Michigan thing seriously discussed?

Yet you trusted Jeter's staff who actually signed the "such a one-sided garbage contract" that was almost a complete disaster? Got it. Nice try. For the first two years of the Jeter era, scheduling was handled by Senior Associate AD Chuck Lang, and the MU contract itself was signed by Bud Haidet. Jeter's staff certainly had input, but Lang was the one who built the schedule from top-to-bottom. I don't know where the staff stood on the Marquette series; it wasn't until later that I got close enough to the staff for those conversations, and the MU series never came up. Jeter's staff (first Bid, later Duffy and at the end Boudreau) took over for scheduling after Lang took a similar job at San Diego State.
