So who would you guys like to see us use our last scholarship on? It 100% has to be an impact player. If it's not, put the scholarship back in our pocket. The transfer epidemic has gotten to the point where you want that flexibility to be able to put a player on scholarship in December. In the spring, high-majors can push a scholarship player out to make room for a transfer. They would never do that during the season unless the kid they're pushing out deserves to be pushed out. This alone severely limits the amount of schools a mid-season transfer can go to, so it behooves us to consider maintaining this flexibility. The only reason I would give out the last scholarship this spring is if you're going to bring in someone who will be essential to a postseason run. I don't see that being likely, because the pool of players that would qualify for this is small and we also don't have a likely postseason run next year.

That doesn't even factor in the minutes crunch we could see next year with the current roster and new additions. We lose 26% of the minutes from a year ago. I could see Alderson and Johnson gobbling up those minutes in a hurry by themselves. Then you factor in Saddler, Nero, Newsome or the natural progression of our young guys and it could be a challenging situation. Usually, these things take care of things by way of injury or players stepping up, but it will be interesting to see it play out as there are a lot of talented young players on the roster. I will also be very curious to see what lineup configurations look like.

Per Roy Schmidt of ilprepbullseye.com, we're pursuing former Illinois committ Javon Pickett. He has an unofficial visit to St Louis on Wednesday & an official visit to Western KY on Friday. He also just landed an offer from Bradley. We have an in-home visit with him tonight.
His twitter account is protected so I think that's preventing me from copying the tweets directly onto here.

Illinois state also visiting Pickett and Boise St is expected to offer. Seems like a long shot.

They still have known offers out to Kyle McKinley & Malik Osborne. Osborne's probably out of our reach given his other offers and I have no clue on McKinley. McKinley is getting P5 attention too so it's safe to assume he's off the board,

Looks like he's going the JUCO route. I don't believe we actually offered him...
